A new year, a new color

azuriteSo I'm a redhead now-- but moreso of a redhead than I was when VHG and everyone else was leaving for college the first time around (remember that? It was like, the last official RTA gathering, and you could tell we were on our way out. It was kinda sad). I used Herbal Essences "Radiant Ruby," or some variant thereof, and when Mom saw me mid-dye, she thought part of my head had been cut off; the hair dye was that dark red, clotted, and sticky. ^^; And some of it is still on my neck-- probably because no one bothered to tell me when Richie's dinner thing was, so when everyone (being God/Anthony, Jimbo, Vince, Allan, Dorkchop, Randy and... Richie!) showed up, I was so covered in dye and dressed in garbage bags and ratty clothing-- how embarassing!
I finally got all the dye out, did a quick conditioning job, blow-dried, and got dressed into my Bar Mitzvah outfit-- my nice blue gown, light blue jeweled sweater, and black pumps. And now as a "ruby" redhead, I look even more radiant-- though parts of my lower layers are still brown... *frown* Silly hair dye.
Ssh, don't tell Scott though: I want it to be a surprise!
Right now I'm at Vince's, and I've just finished checking my usual email... I've gotten some new reviews that make me quite pleased (and rarin' to post Chapters 15 and 16; 15 will actually be quite long, and 16 is... well, I'm proud of it, and I sincerely hope the Hentai Goddesses I worship (Atlantis and Kysra) will like it, even if it is a watered-down limeade, in my opinion. ;)
Dinner at the Elephant Bar was good-- not too expensive, totally fun, with no accidents and no drama, despite being an hour and a half late, being stuck in rainy weather and traffic with an illegal number of people crammed into a speeding SUV... well, you get the picture. It all ended up well anyhow. I got a Baja Chicken Quesedilla, which didn't make me sick (YAY!), 2 cokes (free refills!) and a Creme Brulee. Except for the Cokes, I needed help finishing everything-- and I was at a table with guys like Paulo and Sean, who ordered 2 entrees AND appetizers! *shock+awe* I tell ya what, wow.
Tomorrow is the LJ party, and I have to make due with $13-- which means hoping for a free ticket should we see a movie at the Met (or else a student/matinee price), or very cheap/mooching off for food. And if we end up doing the ice-skating... >_< Well, I don't like being strapped for cash, but there's just no way I can go home and ask Mom for more, especuially since she still wants to buy me the PS2 Mod. *whine* Damn it, why didn't Borders call me back?! Why Borders, WHY?!
