[Poll #406222]

So the above poll was spawned by an argument I had with my grandpa, who insisted all food, regardless of how it was originally cooked, tastes the same as it was originally made -not better or worse- when reheated in a microwave. Now, I love Grandpa, but I think he's full of hooey. Ever reheated macaroni in a microwave? It gets all crusty and the cheese sauce kind of BOILS and... well, yeah, gross. And what about all those dishes where you're not sure HOW long to reheat it? Even if you pick a reasonable time, it still won't taste as good as the original-- it's just like those "preheat" instructions on doggie boxes at restaurants; it doesn't make a hair's breadth of difference. At least, that's what I think. You tell me, and if you have any interesting commentary, re: the poll, comment.

Or "leave a message after the beep," as it were.

So I came back from the second (that I went to) and final (overall) day of Japantown Anime Faire's "Season's Screenings." I didn't watch a single episode of anime, but I had great fun hanging out with everyone (almost everyone-- noticeably missing were the likes of PsyJoe and Grace, two demi-usuals in our crowd). Everyone, in this instance being Vince-nii-chan, Jimbo, Richie, Bruce (yesterday), Erwin (today), Christal, Joe, Jenny (today), Cheuk, Jesse, Ray (head of all things JTAF), and quite possibly more people that I'm forgetting... anyway, thanks to some new fans-slash-friends, the spritz cookies I slaved over (yes, I did get burned) were devoured in short order; I'm happy, and if people liked them, I'll be glad to make more. Or cherry winks, since nii-chan seems to like those.

Earlier, I got lost trying to meet up with Steph and Sung, the latter of which I hadn't seen in a long time; he's doing well (still hasn't come out officially to his mother or grandmother, which I find rather amusing) and everything, and saved a bunch by going to places with major sales (read: Goodwill on December Sundays = 50% off ALL clothing!). He got away with murder, I'd say! I even got myself (okay, Sung paid for it) a cute little red velvet dress for $1.99! I can try and trim it with white fur (temporarily, anyway) to make a sorta-Miss Santa outfit. ^_^

Back on the murder topic, I just finished re-reading Sweet Valley High (remember those?) #100: The Evil Twin. It's one of the Christmas magna editions, and I randomly had the urge to read it yesterday before I left for J-town... I also have the sequel. But during Unwound, the anime-themed radio show filmed post-screening, the DJ and the guest kept bringing up the fact that I was reading Sweet Valley, and cracking on me for it... *blush* But it's a murder one, so does it really count? *grin*

Ooh, the cool point of today had to be meeting R.C.-- well, technically I met him ysterday, but I had no idea he was 1) a fic writer, 2) a Yu-Gi-Oh fan, and 3) a DAMN good fanartist! He did conceptual art for an as-yet-unposted fic of his involving this very interesting looking OC named "Arc" along with some delish bonuses of Yami Yugi and Kaiba! And Kaiba looks SOOOO hot (he even got a new trenchcoat)! Yugi just looked like a boywhore, what can I say? *grin* I loved it, and I hope he sends me scans! ^_^

In the end, I discovered many an interesting thing:
1) Ray never had issue with me. The whole thing about me supposedly being blacklisted from some World of Anime event was either a lie, a rumor, or someone's got amnesia. Regardless, it's water under the bridge, and now I'm apparently welcome at all JTAF events, especially if I bring cookies and help out.
2) I continue to attract "the weird ones," even if they're "cool weird ones," with decent fashion sense or a sense of humor. I'm glad to be taken, and have that nifty little conscience-gene in me that screams "relief and excuse!" to get away from those who hit on me and make me feel a bit... er, slimy.
3) There was a fandub of the Fushigi Yuugi OVAs, which they let me keep. Being that it's a VHS, I plan to watch it now, while hopelessly and sappily waiting for Scott to call, as promosed... he's already a half hour late, despite a cryptic text message (the subject line) that I sent his way. Speaking of fandubs, I SO want to do a Yu-Gi-Oh movie fandub. Apparently on some forum they took votes re: if the Yu-Gi-Oh movie were live action, who would be played by who...

I don't know about too many of the roles, but I'm firm that either James Woods or Christopher Walken (despite both of them being too old) would be GREAT Pegasus(es)! Don't ask me about Yugi or Kaiba or them... I seriously have no idea. And as for Téa? Er... well... not some tweeny pop star, how about that? I'd say Eliza Dushku, but she's TOO butt-kicking.

What do you think?

Anywho, g'night... for now.

I've read nearly every Sweet Valley High book and I have to say the Evil Twins one were the best.

::Spoiler::

Jess loses her virginty when she gets married, but she gets a divorce soon after.

Elizabeth loses it to a Duke from England when so goes to England after a misunderstanding with her sister. There were six books, I believe and she grew up a lot and almost got married.

I take it that you didn't receive the two emails I've sent to your yahoo account, Azurite? Because I got one of them sent back, but I'm not sure about the other one. If you DIDN'T RECEIVE THEM, then I'll mail it to your fanfiction account, okies?

Lol. Yeah, that's it! ^-^ Hope you liked it... they're so unoriginal *groans*... I was hoping that I would get the motorcycle scene done, but alas *sighs dramatically* homework was practically a swamp to walk through! >-< And you don't have to reply, I'm just happy that you've received it!

Your grandfather actually said that food when reheated in the microwave tastes the same as it did when it was originally cooked? I beg to differ. For starters, whenever I make a cheese sandwich, the cheese tends to melt more than what I want it to, second (maybe it's just me), the food seems to shrink a little when you put it in the microwave. I don't know... Maybe it depends on the microwave.
