Holy mother of Shiva, wow.
Not only did I get As in 3/5 of my classes (CAD and Math are still the great unknowns), but I just got an essay-length review for WDKY, and I couldn't be happier. Just... wow. The good news keeps on coming! I also beat Chac at Bevelle, but the minute I dared to go to Cloister 81, I got my ass handed to me-- first by a Black Elemental, then by an Elder Drake, then by a Concherer. The coincidence is that they were all bosses I smacked down earlier, but I can't remember my strategy... ergo, I decided to high-tail it out of there and just beat the game over at the Farplane.
And beat it I did! 94% completed, ladies and gents-- the remaining from that fraction I suppose I would have gotten at Bevelle, and earlier from the Den of Woe. I'm on New Game Plus now (makes life easier, having all the DSs, but not having the HP/MP to support them kinda STINKS)-- but in retrospect, I probably shouldn't have overwritten my old file with this new one, ne? Well, at least I'll know if/when I gain more percentage points-- you can't "regain" %points for something you've already done, so if I do things right this time, I should be able to get a 99% (or, if I ever beat Shinra at Sphere Break, a 100%!)
I admit, I cried at the end... but I wish there could have been some more animation rolling with the credits, and Yuna's singing of "1000 Words," the orchestrated version. And Lenne's voice? Er... didn't match, really. ^^; I wish they'd made that final scene FMV, but it was kind of... blocky? I guess I expected more from FFX2. Watching Shuyin do his equivalent of Blitz Ace (and use World Champion as his weapon, at that!) made me laugh.
Like any time when I do/watch something over again, I ask lots of questions-- like I did the other night when Steph and Sherrell came over after I grabbed some grub at Dragon River (got ripped off; shouldn't have paid $10.75, and I didn't get a single fortune cookie!) and we watched "Aladdin." I can do that with FFX2, as well...
For starters:
1) Where did Yuna and Co. find the Songstress Dressphere in the first place?
2) How did Leblanc get it from them?
3) Why would Leblanc WANT to pretend to be Yuna, and therefore make HER more popular? It would have been one thing if she'd gone around committing crimes in Yuna's form, but...
And some spoilers...
1) Did Shuyin and Lenne really die in the underground of Bevelle, where Vegnagun was originally positioned?
2) If so, when was the Journey's Start sphere of him in a cage filmed? The way Shuyin spoke, it sounded as though he knew Lenne were still alive, or something...
3) And speaking of all that, why would Shuyin get the idea in his head that if he blew up Spira, he'd be saving Lenne? True, she wouldn't have to do the whole Final Aeon thing (but then again, who wants to take bets on which of her ONE guardian would have become Sin, anyway?)
4) All along, Shuyin acted as a sort of ghost in that he was undead, but he had no physical form-- so he acted through others. Why not pull an Auron, and have him WITH a physical form? Or was because he died 1000 years ago, Tidus was his "dream equivalent" and all that jazz, it was never possible for him to have a corporeal form to begin with?
5) So what about Lenne? Did she really go to the Farplane, and it was just her strong emotions sealed away in the dressphere? If so, how did she appear at the Thunder Plains concert, or at the very end, where she undoubtedly was aware of the 1000-year passing?
Some more general nitpicky questions:
1) Who was the first real summoner? Yunalesca, and her guardian, her husband Lord Zaon?
2) Who was Yu Yevon, and what does he have to do with bringing back Sin?
3) Why did Bevelle, anti-all-things-machina invent Vegnagun in the first place?
4) It's been shown that many summoners existed at one time, but there's only one HIGH summoner-- the one who completes all the trials. Was Lenne a High Summoner, or not?
5) What was the deal with the dark Aeons returning in FFX2, anyway?
...Okay, I'm done.
I'm going to give Borders until Friday to call, before I apply to Office Max. I want to see Dad and meet the new kitty, Roy, but I also want to see everyone at this "Season's Screenings" thing in J-Town, plus maybe hit up RTA... augh, too much to do, not enough time or money! Anyway, I need to play some more FFX2 NG+ and then work on WDKY14... yeah. =D

Date: 2004-12-17 07:54 pm (UTC)As for Scorpios, Takahashi-sensei did his research too; he wouldn't have bothered to come up with birthdays for everyone if their personalities wouldn't fit their signs. It's not as common in shonen manga, I think, but... nonetheless, it's pretty darn accurate.
My bf is a Scorpio too; believe it or not, the "stereotypical" traits can change depending on the part of the sign (the descant) you were born during!
...and to make matters worse, I plan on writing a fic (5ch) with the subject line *points up* as the title... *evil cackle*
