*waves* Hi! I'm back from the realm of the Freezing, also known as Seattle. It's the closest to Canada I've ever been. ^^; Okay, so it wasn't even really Seattle, but Bellevue, which is about 20 minutes from Seattle. It's like calling Northridge "Hollywood." Same difference. -_-;
Anyway, Sam's bar mitzvah was a success-- amusing, interesting-- there were even mushy moments. In a nutshell:
1 - I can't shop with my female cousins, aunts, or uncle's girlfriends because they're all very well-off/spoiled/rolling in dough, and I am not. This was made painfully obvious when I went to Bellevue center with Joann, Dan's girlfriend. We went into the Gap and she spent $130 on a trio of stupid sequined scarves-- all because she couldn't decide which one (black, silver, or gold) she liked better! >_< It got worse-- we went into bebe (nice clothes, ridiculous costs) and this over-priced "We Kill Animals For Fun" store called Caché. Seriously, the cheapest garment in the store was a $98 sweater, and 2/3 of everything in there had a "Made With Dead Animal Parts" tag on it. Fox fur, rabbit fur... I was shocked. What does Joann say (in defense of this, and her fur coat)? "I forgot, you're from San Francisco." AAAAAUGH! Since when is being frugal a bad thing?
2 - I actually had a fantastic conversation after lights out on Thursday night-- totally unusual, since Baba always finds herself needing to tell me to go the extra mile and "get along with Erin," or "be nice to Erin." Normally, you see, we don't get along. But we had this great conversation about me doing what I want, going places and doing things, becoming independent, and following my dreams. This was shocking from Erin, because I've always seen her as rather spoiled and immature-- but she's proven to me that she's anything but. It's scary, but I have a newfound respect for her.
3 - Housekeeping woke us up the next morning at the unholy hour of 6:30, and then again at 7:30 (after I'd put up the Do Not Disturb sign!). I complained to the front desk, on the advice of family friend Marsha, and I walked away with two Free Breakfast coupons-- that we never used, because we had food at the shul and then on Sunday, at Sally's house. Darn-- the one day we had breakfast at the Sheraton Bellevue, I had this huge Lumberjack meal with cinnamon pancakes. Yum!
4 - I went kind of crazy when I did go shopping. I got presents for my buds, and the pieces of what will be a kick-ass Christmas/Birthday present for mom. I even treated myself to two books (Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook: College, and Zombondo!!). I saw a 4-lens camera I was tempted to get for Scott, but I didn't... 8-lenses sounds cooler, don't you think? Well, I'm broke now, after buying him that red collapsible monogrammed duffel. ^^;; I couldn't resist, once I saw it in In Style magazine. It sounded like such a good idea, and I'm feeling so creative and insanely generous this season... so now I might not be able to get my manga or my PS2 mod-- unless Mom gets it for me, which means putting up with doing all the dishes and taking out the trash again. -_- *sigh* Geez...
I promised Sam I'd try and get him DerDer's "Roadkill" paintball DVD, and also some Red vs. Blue (which I suppose I can burn for him, but where's the fun in that (without the easter eggs)? If I get the DVDs at GameStop or something, I can have Scott burn a copy...) Man, I need money. I wonder if places are still hiring for the holidays? But you need money to make money-- be it for eBay or taking the bus to Borders and finding out whether they're hiring or not...
ANYWAY! I've already started getting presents-- and I feel spoiled rotten!
1 - Pearl earrings from Dad. Ones he actually BOUGHT FOR ME, with Kathleen's help. Admittedly, I wanted money or a Borders card more, but... it's DAD. He never hesitates to remind me I'm his only girl (this is a far cry from 2 years ago, when we pretty much didn't speak to each other-- a 2-year estrangement period from 2000 to 2002) and he's so proud of me, and I'm quite the fox, as he predicted.
2 - A bebe shirt from Joann. This is because I spilled some hot cocoa on my cream-colored sweater while at the mall. Joann tried to help me get it off-- by squirting water down my shirt. Well, at least most of the stains came off, thanks to that water plus some tissue paper she gave me from her Gap bags. ^^; The bebe shirt was highly overpriced, but it's pretty, goes with most of my clothing and hey! Now I can brag I actually own a piece of bebe. Hee.

mklutz!!!!!!!!!!! I'm abusing this to the fullest of my abilities- -I've already got a nifty new layout (Component) with special text linking and all that other fun stuff. I'll try and make more use of it more (polls, phone entries, etc.) as soon as I figure everything out, or get some advice and what not. WOWZA!
4 - Some delish fanart from Kysra (and even from from someone named Helter Skelter, in which Seto looks a bit like Ringo Starr) which is begging to be posted/colored/turned into a layout or something... whee!
^_^ YAY I AM TEH HAPPY.
So for all the days I sit at home, either jobless, bus-fare-less, or some combination thereof, I'll probably play video games. You know, DDR, FFX, FFX-2. I'm trying to figure out the Oversoul thing in FFX-2. Playing the two games concurrently confuses me... Anyway, so I've been surfing around trying to look for a way to beat Chac once and for all, and here is what I have discovered--
1 - You don't have to beat X amount of Y species monsters to get Z monster to oversoul. You have to fight X amount, and then when the next one oversouls, escape, and Z monster will oversoul. In other words, instead of fighting 100+ Gucumantz (Basilisk)-type monsters to get Chac to oversoul, you fight 10 or 21, THEN go to fight Chac, who will oversoul. Right? Or is it, fight 9 or 20, escape the 10th or 21st that will oversoul, go to Chac, and it will oversoul in place of the Basilisk-type that SHOULD have oversouled?
2 - I have too much equipment worthy of being equipped for this battle, and not enough slots. I've decided that Yuna will be my Gunner (since she's the only Gunner with Trigger Happy Lvl. 3 anyway), so she gets the Cat Nip. But what to use in her other slot? There's a Speed Bracer (or was it a Haste Bangle?) that puts her into Auto-Haste, and allows her to cast Hastega on everyone... There's Rabite's Foot, which raises her Luck by 100 and might prevent her from getting Stoned... or there's the Mythril/Crystal Bangles, which raise her HP by 100% and 60% respectively. I only have one Mythril Bangle, but 5 or more Crystal Bangles. As she is, her HP is only in the 2000s. Which means she dies easily...
Rikku and Paine are my designated Dark Knights. I had Rikku using Watery Gleam in the hopes that she could inflict some Water damage (which Chac is weak to) on the side, while Paine had a Bushido Lore, to use Eject or Zanmato, both of which are the two measly "ailments" Chac can be afflicted with. Though apparently, it can also be afflicted with Slow.
The question therein lies, equip who with what-- and what about Garment Grids?
On a final note of the day, only Mamono got back to me with the short WDKY13. I was hoping Kysra or Atlantis (both of which I sent it to) might get back to me... but maybe it's so short, it could fly into your head and you'd miss it? ^^; Anyway, I'm going to start work on WDKY14, which will be long. As will 15 and 16-- out by Christmas, if I have my way. ^_^
Anyway, I'm back, I'm bold, maybe even beautiful! I'm in your face and you're going to have to deal with it! So yeah. Hi.
