Never let me loose in a Best Buy. I'll wreak havoc. First thing I did was to play DDR for XBox on the Red Octane pad-- not bad at all, but the RO pads are pricey, even at BB! $99... yeesh. I wandered a bit, looking for FFX and maybe see this new Yu-Gi-Oh CapMon game (I played it a little at the World Championships, but my memory's a bit rusty). Then I stumbled on a nice little bundle-- DDR Extreme for PS2 with a pad! :O Only $60. So I splurged and bought it. FFX, by the way, was $20 even in the Greatest Hits collection. I'm thinking... er, GameStop? $12...
Those of you who were at Fanime 2K4 know who I mean when I say "the Konami Guy who warned us this was coming." A whole redesign of the game, thanks to those damn Euros! Gr. Thank goodness it's pretty adaptable. But for some bizarre reason, the left arrow on the pad scrolls RIGHT on the screen, and vice versa. o_O?
In terms of songs, I like the new includes-- most of them are going to be familiar if you listen to dance/techno/electronica radio, a'la Music One for Windows Media Player (btw, a great station!). There's "Diving" from 4 Strings, "Believe" (from Cher) by Eddie L., "Waiting for Tonight" (from J.Lo) by P.A.T., a song by Darude, and my current favorite "Your Rain (Rage Mix)."
But as for songs overall, and songs from the Arcade version? Next to nothing. They all better be unlock-able songs (like De-sire/Trip Machine and 1 other by... er "Shawn the Horny Master?" Yeah, I laughed too. But I want Candy! And Break Down! -_- WHERE ARE MY SONGS!???! *sigh*
On the bright side, I'll be getting my PS2 modded when I go to SF. Mod = Japanese games, like Karaoke Revolution's Anime Mix or something. :)
I also went to Jo-Ann's and got some nice greeting card creation paper, so my crafty self will be making a major comeback this holiday season. Teh PHWEE!
The only bad news of the day? I think I have onset of Carpal Tunnel. Or maybe I sprained my wrist. Whatever, it's my right wrist, it's been hurting all day, I can't write or type very well, and... I don't know what to do. Mom says ice it, so I'll probably ice it later on (when I don't have stuff to do).
HELP! For those of you who know Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, answer me a few questions:
1) Where do you get your eps? Yes, I have BitTorrent.
2) What about music? Where can I find the soundtrack/best collection on sale?
3) Do you think someone will release the 60-minute special online, or will we have to grab the DVD? But then, it probably won't be subtitled, ne... >_<
I updated my Yu-Gi-Oh Virtual Desktop program to the latest version, and got all the decks and promos up to Soul of the Duelist. Anyone wanna duel? I can't wait to see the new cards in the Dark Beginning and Rise of Destiny sets, which are coming out later... even if I won't buy the actual TCG cards anymore (what's the point?) hopefully I can duel people online. That and, it'd be nice if they did more PC games like PoC... *grin* I'd love to see a Mai game... *grin*
My Joey the Passion should arrive by the 9th, and my Nanowrimo shirt soon.
Oh, and Kysra, you were right-- Sarah Brightman's "Harem" is absolutely amazing (did you mean "It's A Beautiful Day" for the song?) ... and I can actually image DAL-esque scenes, along with some for TRC! *evil grin* I really want to get this fanart done for that soon. If only I could draw Seto. >_< He is a bugger to draw, ne?
Since Sarah Brightman's stuff is primarily orchestral, most of her stuff is repeated in the song... so do yourself a favor and buy the CD. Really, it's good. Or, if you have DSL, connect to Winamp's Streaming Media (you must be a Winamp member. Takes 3 minutes to sign up, but make sure the email doesn't go into your bulk folder!) and search for her that way. You get to listen to the FULL CD!
Anyway, the lyrics:
un bel giorno...
un bel giorno per morire.
Un bel di, vedremo
levarsi un fil di fumo
dall'estremo confin del mare.
E poi la nave appare.
With every new day
Your promises fade away
It's a fine day to see
Though the last day for me
It's a beautiful day
It's the last day for me
It's a beautiful day
It's the last day for me
It's a beautiful day
And finally, I'm thinking about opening my PayPal account to accept transfers... would probably make gift-giving idea for Mom, etc. I mean, tix for Japan (someday), and of course, my boundless Yu-Gi-Oh purchases (namely, the Uncut DVDs released last month).
Aaand now, my muse and my speech assignment attack! To work!

Harem
Date: 2004-11-05 06:03 am (UTC)Seriously though, it's it gorgeous? ;-; I'm not sure what it is that makes it sound so . . . so EPIC to me, but . . . yeah, it does.
But the whole album "Harem" is awesome, and it will be joining my cd collection as soon as I can get my arse to the mall . . . tomorrow.
I think Seto just hates making public appearances so he gives us nice folks a hard time when we try to force his hand ^_~

Date: 2004-11-05 04:10 pm (UTC)Carpal tunnel also involves numbness in the fingers of the hand, particularly the last two. Tendonitis is similar, but comes without the numbness, and can involve actual swelling of the wrist.
I only know this because I have tendonitis problems in both of my forearms which involve muscle pain and swelling that goes from the fingers to the elbows.
But whether it's just a sprain, or tendonitis, or carpal tunnel, the best treatment (especially if there's swelling) is ice and a tensor. Rest the wrist. If you suspect carpal tunnel try bending your hands backward (or up) so that the wrist is extended. That may give some relief because it strectches the tightened muscles in the wrist.
If you're writing or typing a lot, I would suspect an overuse or strain injury and that the pain from it would be alleviated through ice, rest, and support.
At least, that's what I always do when my wrists (arms) get sore (and swollen).
But, of course, don't listen to me. I'm not a doctor and as such I don't really know anything about anything. Really. I know nothing.
This is the part where I "shut up."
