Where's Dez?
Oct. 7th, 2004 10:21 pmDez, where the heck are you? Happy Birthday, Dude!
Oh yes, I revised and did some final touch-ups on the CSUN Anime Club poster. It's kind of a big image, even for a "shrunken thumbnail," so I'm stuffing it behind a cut.

I still have to talk to everyone about the website, because frankly... it sucks. Then again, I'm sort of biased toward Anime FX, and I think their website is all that and a box of Pocky, so...
Speaking of Pocky, I have to go buy some from the local Japanese market (I hope they have some!) for our Speech presentation on Japan-- which Michelle and Amy want to do on Monday! Dude, I don't know what I'm going to say for my Introduction (other than "Welcome, and thank you for joining us for our presentation on Japan" in Japanese... which I still have to figure out how to phrase, exactly.). That and, I went and bought that whole poster board-- we better be able to put stuff on it. None of us have lockers or anything though, and I'm not too keen on toting the poster board and any visual aids tomorrow unnecessarily. I'm willing to bring markers and whatever; maybe if I can stop by home after class, get artsy stuff, and then be back at the library by 2, it'll work out in my favor. I think I'll assemble that stuff now...
Okay, so I've got:
* Permanent Markers
* Manga (including "phone books")
* Origami Paper and Kimono-shaped note paper
* The Anime Companion
* A few books, including Memoirs of a Geisha, The Pillow Book of Lady Wisteria, and Banana Yoshimoto's N.P.
We have to cover a great deal of "general Japan" and some "interesting, What You Thought You Knew" facts about Japan in 15 minutes, between the four of us. Amy and Michelle are taking care of the body of the speech, so the plan at this point is:
FRIDAY:
-Meet at the library at 2pm
-Design the visual aid, including interesting info, art, etc. Photocopy things like maps, draw pictures of anime characters, geisha, samurai, and so on. (Pimp the anime club?)
-Make sure the introduction explains why we're presenting, why Japan is interesting, and what topics we're going to cover (history, politics, people, culture, food, art, etc.)
-Have to use at least 2 current journals (within the last 5 years) and 2 books.
-Get the MLA format outline finished
In other news, I've made some more outfits for Téa, but as I said before, the doll is seriously a Beta version. I still have to figure out how to save a *.pal palette file from Photoshop using my selected 256 colors (anyone know how?). Plus I need to work on some shoes. Stupid shoes. They're hard to draw. If worse comes to worse, I can always print out the nude doll and use tracing paper to create more clothes, which I can then scan, clean up, and color. Hopefully (BIG emphasis on the 'HOPE' part there) I can get a beta *.kcf done by Saturday night.
I've also started the Anniversary Page, which will include any and all goodies people want to send my way, plus the KiSS doll, anything else people can think of... and of course, links to the fic. I'm trying to come up with a complete list of Chapter titles, because believe it or not, I haven't thought that far ahead. I have up to Chapter 16, and the ending/finale chapter. I even have chapter titles for the sequel, but not Chapter 17+! Yeesh. The page has teaser summaries of each chapter, including ones that haven't been released yet. So there are some spoilers as of right now, but since the page isn't UP yet, I'll find a way to rewrite them to keep you all hanging. *grin*
