Guacamole is an aphrodisiac?
Sep. 26th, 2004 10:52 pmI <3 Food Network. I've been watching it since 9:00pm, when they showed the "White House Kitchens" special-- which is a great insight into the human life (that is to say, EATING) in the White House. You learn some rather fascinating things on the Food Network! I wanna try making a dessert like the Hawaiian Beach Island one featured, but it looks pretty complex. After that was Top 5 for Presidential Favorites-- the #1 Favorite being Reagan's Jelly Beans. I'd like to make a Jelly Bean portrait one of these days, but what of? ^^; I saw a Spiderman one at the Metreon once, but the colors were off. And I've always wanted to go to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfax...
Plus, the First Ladies Favorites sound pretty interesting-- Laura Bush's "controversial" lemon guacamole that just might be an aphrodesiac (Thanks to Scott, I now know how to MAKE guacamole. Now all I need to do is come up with something to have them with), and currently, Maime Eisenhower's Million Dollar Fudge Brownies. I DEFINITELY have to try and make those!
Food's been actually pretty varied lately-- today, Joyce, Neal (aunt and uncle from San Diego), Erin (their daughter, going to UCLA), Baba, Grandpa and I all went to the Macaroni Grill (which I normally don't like much due to limited selection and wannabe opera-singer waitresses). I had a giant portion of fettucini alfredo with yummy moist garlic bread. Yesterday, Brooke, Honus (her husband, aka Michael) and I went to this restaurant by Borders and had this very juicy, soft barbequed chicken; I had sweet potatoes mashed on the side, and I got absolutely stuffed!
Maybe the food lends to creativity? More samplings of what I've done today:
* Started the base for the Téa KiSS [WDKY] doll, using the Argonite template -- This is a beta doll at best. I'm hoping I can use a Kysra-original for the final project, which I'd put out at the end of WDKY or the start of CO7.
* Designed and drew 3 outfits: school uniform, the dance-date outfit, and the black dancer outfit. I still have loads more to go, along with suggestions I'm hoping to get from
pro_anzu_fans.
* Modified the layout and responded to various comments in the SOUTEN main Guestbook. It doesn't have an auto-notify feature, so I'll just have to check back there often for updates. I should also find a way to differentiate my replies from the comments, possibly using a table or special border in the CSS file.
* Worked on WDKY11 some more, but there are some "sticky" scenes that I'd like to talk over some betas with. Of course, I haven't seen everybody (Harley and Atlantis, especially) in a while, so...
Plus I felt the urge to read fanfiction, so I swung by the Full Metal Panic section at FFnet-- only 85 fics. Sadly, the first two I happened on downright sucked, even though one of them had a fabulous summary. *le sigh* But the one I'm currently reading "Needless Secrets" is absolutely amazing, plus the author turned me towards boku-tachi.net, where they have translations of the FMP novels! Plus they come with illustrations, so I'm pretty much in a state of fic-bliss right now-- it's amazing.
Tomorrow I have a quiz in Speech, and I should set up a meeting time with Renata and Michelle; we have our first group assignment dealing with presenting a country in a few weeks. Of course, I'm leaning toward Japan, but we'll see what everyone else is doing and what the other girls want to do. Geography is astonishingly my easiest class, but I do need to catch up on the textbook reading in case Mr. Davidson decides to speed up. Then there's Journalism; we just turned in the second entry in our Media Notebooks, so depending on if Ms. Henry has the rewrites back, that might be the project of the week. I think I did a good job with this latest one, even if I did it all at the last minute. ^_^
Tuesday is always my big worry: I'm pretty sure I bombed that math test (I had at least -18 points off, I'm sure of it) and I have to start the Chapter 7 projects in AutoCAD. *sigh*
(What the hell? Lexus is using Real McCoy's "Run Away" in their commercials! Not only is that one of my fav songs, but it's so old school! o_O SHOCK!)
Tomorrow is another Matathon meeting, plus I have to swing by the post office to mail Dad's AutoCAD CD back to him. Hopefully I can eat lunch with Scott as well.
Anyway, back to FMP! ^_^ (I really wanna start up my FMP site...)
