azuriteHasn't even been 24 hours since I posted WDKY10, but I have to admit, I was hoping for a bit more than *4* reviews over the course of the day. I could always blame FFnet's slowness, or my email's glitchiness, I guess. Also, one of those reviews came from the kindly and third-eye-y Svelte Rose, who spotted the "yesterday/Sunday" error that I tried (really I did) to weed out. Pobody's nerfect, I guess. ^^; Anyway, I made that change for the WDKY on DR, along with the subsequent Log page; I'll upload the new copy to FFnet and MMorg once I'm sure there are no more errors of the sort.
Geh, and can you believe it-- one of the reviews says this: I hate MAI, but I love JOEY and he better be sleepig on the sofa.Why? Because he is a MINOR(?), and she is 24 going on 25 and I don't care if this is fake he's still young, I WAS fine with this chapter UNTILL it got to THAT part.
Look honeys, it's a PG-13 going on R-rated fic for a reason. Yes, there are going to be sexual innuendos in it, same as in TJOY. Good god, TJOY is going to be a Rated R fic come Chapter 3 or 4, so why are you nitpicking about Chapter 10 (which took forever, in case you didn't know)?! I implied that Joey and Mai had sex. Yes, with each other. Get over it. Japan doesn't have the same laws as the US, Canada, the UK, or Australia. Do NOT rail to me about statutory rape. Joey may be a minor (until January, anyway-- and in WDKY-land, that's a mere 2 months and change away), but you honestly think THAT is going to stop him? And don't preach to me about "sex after marriage." This is meant to be a realistic fiction, and realistically? I don't think Joey would wait if the opportunity presented itself.
Now that I'm done with that nice little rant, onwards! And upwards!
Now that my StyleXP has expired, apparently my OSX theme doesn't work. -_- Pisses me off. Everything costs so much money these days. Grandpa bought me my two books that I couldn't get online at the store today-- total came to $92 and change. The other textbooks, which I ordered on Amazon Marketplace as per Rod's advice, came to $131, which = major savings for me when my FinAid check comes. Whoo. I just hope I get the right books, in good condition, with the CDs needed, and by Tuesday. ^_^; Anyway, because of all that spending, I didn't want to ask Grandpa to pay for the yearly registration for StyleXP or the McAfee things... He always tells me that he's not a bank, and I don't want to abuse all that he's doing for me. I can't wait to get my first paycheck. ^^;
Anyway, Anzu's alive and kicking, so I'm going to log onto her account soon and start a new thread for us [living] RPers to have fun with. Mou, Mamono ended the last one with such a mean!Kaiba... "These geeks? Yeah... they'll be back." I guess that makes you a SUPER GEEK, huh, Kaiba-kun!? You're going to come back with roses, NE!?!?!?
Grandpa and Baba think that I'm not cultured enough when it comes to food, and I guess they're right. I'm not an unhealthy eater, per se, but down here, my diet's changed pretty drastically, but, hey, it's food-- so I don't complain. Salads are pretty common, but instant foods aren't. We had some steak (Baba seriously overdid it tonight; she made LOADS of it) and salad, and loads of orange juice... plus Baba gave me a Twix bar. ^_^ The mutts across the street are gonna love the leftover meaty bones, though. ;D
*sigh* Anyway, I need to make a new layout for Darkness Rising. Gonna jet now.

Date: 2004-08-23 02:52 am (UTC)This was a major character devolpment for Mai-she is starting to be able to trust guys again. That was an important issue you brought up and slowly to to solve.
You even brought up past issues with Mai that don't conflict what we know about her. You expanded her character, but she was still Mai.
And Téa turning to dinking to get forget her problems would normally be out of character but you were able set it up so it was in character. You didn't forget about Yami or Yugi when writing this.
And Serenity slapping Kaiba was priceless. It wasn't something she would normally do-but she's already proven that she can and will stand up to Kaiba.
And adding Ryou Bakura and Yami Bakura added to the plot and expanded from the usual Téa/Kaiba fics.
I only saw two errors last night when I read it. Two errors on 120 pages is very good. I reviewed last night, but I was really sleepy so I didn't say what all I wanted to.
