...Unlucky.
Jan. 14th, 2006 12:50 amWell, after thinking on it, sleeping on it, contemplating, meditating, and finally acting on it... still no luck. Yesterday while I was working on WDKY23 it occurred to me that I should look over my cards, the ones that appear in the chapter. I decided to try and find my deck box. It's normally in one of two places: down here in the rec room, sitting beside the computer (or somewhere else on the desk) or by my card binder behind me, or up in my room, either in my desk drawer or on top of it. Occasionally it can be found on my bookcase, but rarely.
In any case, I looked in all those places. I looked around all those places in case it got shifted around. I looked under my bed, in the closet, in boxes, in pockets, in couches, in other closets, in my suitcase in the garage, in cabinets down here in the rec room, in the kitchen and den drawers... still nothing.
I have a shitty memory. It's not because I smoke pot (*gagchokedie*) or because I don't eat enough prunes (...) I just don't. Ergo, I can't remember what I did with it, or when the last time I saw it was. I know I had it in San Francisco; I played against Teo, Gary's grandson. He whomped me twice, but I can't remember what I did with my deck box after that. It's pretty easy to spot; it's purple with a sticker of Exodia on the top, and my name in purple ink on the top of the box. So I remember having it on the 25th, at least. I left on the 26th at night, but I was so rushed I can't remember if I brought it with me. Usually when I pack my deck box, it goes in the top pouch of my backpack. I figure I either forgot to put it in there (it was sitting in the living room, dining room, dinette, or my room) and I left without it. The only other possibility is that I took the backpack in with me to my dad's house in Alameda and I took it out somewhere. But I brought so little of my stuff to Alameda, even though I stayed up all night with Dad watching TV and eHarmony.com'ing him, I don't think I would have taken my deck box out (assuming it was in my backpack).
After Dad and I got to Northridge, I packed for San Diego. If the deck box WAS in my backpack, it might have stayed in their for the journey. I don't remember if I took it out, but I imagine that it would be spotted pretty easily at Scott's house; I only took out my stuff in that one room (his room, aka the garage). Then again, Scott is "remodeling" at the minute.
...So I've combed this entire house. I called my mom, and she said she didn't see it. I doubt my dad did, and I doubt Scott did, but I'll ask them anyway. But geez, I had my best, rarest cards in there. ;_; And now they're gone.
I hope this turns out to be one of those situations where you find something when you're not looking for it. I'll just be making my bed and it'll fall out of my sheets or something. ;_;
