Final Distance
Oct. 20th, 2004 12:34 pmOkay, so a quick update from the Collabatory on the 3rd floor of the lovely and soaking wet Oviatt Library plop in the middle of the under-construction CSU Northridge Campus. Hello!
So today I took my Speech Midterm, and either I knew more than I thought, multiple choice helped me loads, or last night's note-studying actually did me some good. I was 95% sure on most of the questions, and I ended up leaving the 50 minute class about 30 minutes in. I believe I did well, although I do have to give Michelle a Scantron in return for the one she lent me... she's so nice, I can't believe I flubbed up and forgot my Geography folder with my Scantrons in it! >_<
After that came Geography, with a discussion about the ridiculously long, boring, and Marxist paper by Walter Rodney, "How Europe Underdeveloped Africa." Thankfully Davidson gave us enough time to go through notes and stuff while we looked at questions he wanted us to be able to answer; most of the answers were between myself and probably 2-3 classmates (that's out of 90 in the class, so you can tell who did the reading. Dare I say it? "I knew it."). We have the reading quiz "Girls At War" on Friday, but I finished reading that last week and took two pages of notes, so I'm set.
And then, the joy that is Journalism. We spent the period learning more about television and everything, all interesting material (with the advent of Color TV in the classroom, Mer went crazy with her highlighters...) ... and then we got the Media Notebooks back. Apparently my first draft revision (Entry 1-1) wasn't as revised as it could be, because I still had "holes" that could have been filled by material explained in the topic description. Oh, great. Well, the second one, she had mostly compliments for that, so overall I got a 94. That better be out of a 100, or I'm throwing a hissy fit. If it is out of 100, I'd say I did pretty damn well, and now all I have to angst about is NEXT week's media notebook entry! >_< What to write about...?
So I have about a half hour now before my advisement appointment, when I'll find out what classes I have for next semester. The Spring Schedule is only online, so whoever I get as an adviser (and it better not be the biatch that tricked me LAST time!) won't be able to nag me about not having it. I did my research, dagnabbit! I know at least what some of my classes should/could be, but as per what other GE requirements I need to fill, I guess they'll tell me. All this is still a bit confusing, you know? I'm going to eat my lunch over there in Nordhoff Hall, too, so... yeah.
I guess I have about 10 more minutes before I should leave here and head over there, so I'm off to catch up on people's journals. :)
