azurite: (quebelly otp gop)
Man, today was good. The presentation went well-- we hit 14:35, only 25 seconds shy of our limit. There were some bits that got mispronounced (Daisuke Inoue and Junichiro Koizumi) and forgotten (Fugu = pufferfish = dangerous if prepared improperly!), but I think we did well... plus I spiffed up the presentation board so much that it looked fantastic (to the point of being distracting?) and is very keep-worthy.

Geography was easy; we're working on the Caribbean now, and I'm almost done copying all my old notes to my notebook. I'm actually starting to run low on ink, so that means Mer needs to go to Japantown (L.A!!!!) and get pens!!! YES, PENS!!! *drools* We have a quiz this Friday; this time I'll study those bizarre facts Mr. Davidson has a habit of including on tests. Next came Journalism... I was so exhausted by then though that it was hard to NOT be annoyed by Ms. Henry's voice. Good god, it grates! But we got the next Media Notebook: Magazine assignment, and this one's going to be tough, even if Magazine Journalism is my major. X_X

After that, I went to the Matathon meeting-- we have two new members from sororities, which is good news, and I'm supposed to get a digital copy of the dancer packet to distribute and possibly post online. Plus I have to come up with big poster ideas... we definitely need to get the word out. But in the middle of the meeting, there was this LOUD (and I MEAN LOUD!!!!) fire drill-- something about the dust from the construction being so fine and thick that it got into the smoke detectors and set them off. Seriously, those alarms probably damaged my hearing... For several minutes there, I envied all the hearing-impaired people on campus.

Then I met Scott out near the library, but seating was limited, so we had lunch over by the Engineering Auditorium. Amazingly enough, our conversation went all over the map-- from our changing diets and high metabolisms to the extent of what you'd want to find out about friends and relatives and their "activities." Around 2:00, we headed to the Science 2 building where the Photo Labs are; the original idea was for me to just go home, but... I wanted that tour of the Dark Room. And it *is* called the Dark Room for a reason. It's small, and the only light comes from the glow-in-the-dark clocks, or maybe the red lights. But for most of the time in there, it's PITCH black. Reminded me of the Tactile Dome back at the Exploratorium, really.

And photography is pretty interesting... ^_~

Gosh, today was just fantastic. I mean, really.

I had to walk home in the blazing sun, and when I finally got home, I fell asleep longer than I wanted to, and thus missed out on a park trip with Scott, but then, we both have midterms and stuff coming up, so this week is actually pretty crazy. I can't wait for this weekend... hopefully Scott will stay over Friday night and Saturday we're going to Magic Mountain, so YAY!

I can't believe how far we've come in just over a month. I remember looking back at last month's and August's journal entries, and saying stuff like "I met this guy named Scott... (don't get the wrong idea)." Well, if you got the wrong idea, props to you, because now it's the RIGHT idea. *stupid grin* It's amazing. It really is. I never thought I'd be enjoying myself so much down here. True, there's wangst, but it's limited to the family (as per usual) and one person, as opposed to a whole slew of people.

Life is good.
