I hate dentists. Thankfully, today's appointment was short and relatively pain-free, and now I'm several cavities down with only a few to go. I really need to have better hygiene-- at least where my teeth and gums are concerned. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you should have to learn things the hard way-- not where health is concerned. If one person can make the difference and send you tumbling to the bathroom each night, Crest in hand, let that person be me. Cavities suck.
Anyway, the pain's gone and my stomach's full-- thankfully. Now that Baba and Grandpa are back, Baba doesn't mind making me lunch anymore, but today she decided to take a truly nasty route-- grilled cheese. Let me tell you, I love grilled cheese sandwiches-- when they're hot. Not when they've been stuffed into a Ziploc bag, squished in every way possible, and have holes ripped into them.
Thank Goddess for Scott.
He's a total sweetheart. Yesterday post health-clinic, I was starving, but unwilling to mooch from Scott's lunch; he insisted I eat his peanut butter and jelly (yum!) sandwich on orange bread (yummers!) until I relinquished. And he did the same thing today, the doll. I feel bad about it though, so I'm going to make cookies for him and the other guys at the apartment tomorrow when we go over to watch the Trilogy. Yes, I'm staying over at Scott's. Ooh, bad Mer. *rolls eyes*
On that same topic, Baba and Grandpa didn't seem to mind, but as we got closer to Dr. Burt's (haha) in Beverly Hills, Baba kept saying how she was worried, and what would my parents think? Okay, one, Mom has more embarrassing moments re: guys and sex than I do. It has nothing to do with the fact that she has about 30 years on me. She just does. So she can't possibly complain about a dinky one night sleepover at my boyfriend's. And Dad? Dad pretty much PREDICTED I would hook up with Scott, and pretty much said don't mess up the house [with him] while the g'rents are home. And I didn't, and all is well, and he can't complain either. But then Baba (probably in a sad attempt at trying to be funny again) said she was worried about my "virtue" and I'm only 11 or 12! I know she doesn't have Alzheimer's or whatever, and she's not really spacing out like that, so it just pissed me off even more. I'm not only an adult now, but more than capable of making my own decisions. And that she treats me like a child just downright infuriates me!
There's just no middle-ground, is there? I mean, Mom didn't pay enough attention to me, and I felt pretty lonely and excluded, with probably a more-than-healthy desire to act out and do troublesome, dangerous things. I still survived, and am glad about the stuff (re: Mom) that I don't have to deal with, but on the flip side, with Baba and Grandpa almost always home, it's a bit weird-- they're almost smothering. So even this soon into the school year, I'm strongly hoping to get an apartment (NOT DORMS) next year. Of course, that would require a job and stuff... -_-;
( Tarot and Trading Cards. )
Currently: Dreading the stuff I have to do for tomorrow's classes, not to mention studying for Thursday's math exam. I hate tests. I hate studying. Who doesn't really... I guess... >_< Never mind. It's just math is NOT my strong point. Stupid histograms and bell curve charts... GRR!
( Help me identify a song! )
It's all Kysra's fault -- But later this month I shall be purchasing the DVDs of the Uncut Yu-Gi-Oh series, and doing a comparative studies of the ratio of the following speech patterns in Yu-Gi-Oh. Pass it on, and cackle maniacally until I post graphic results:
* Anzu/Téa's "friendship speeches" (of both the Japanese and English variety, including specific differences in scenes)
* Yugi's "Heart of the Cards" speeches and/or "Destiny" speeches.
* Kaiba's "I will be #1" speeches
I'm also programming the tracks for the CD that Mehg gave me WAAAAY back when they came to visit San Francisco. Yes, finally. If I at least have a file with the names of them, if the CD hard copy ever gets damaged, I can find the CDs again and attempt to replicate it. o_O Though I'm not 100% sure what her title was, as it's in Japanese, and I am again, pretty rusty. I really need to start spiffing up, esp. if I can't get Japanese for the Spring semester.
Finished my CAD drawings. Have to finish my Lab Assignment for Speech. Printed out my Journalism Media Notebook 1, Revised (Due Oct. 9), but I'll save working on MNB#2 until... Thursday. ^^;; It's due Friday. I'm so bad. Need to contact McAfee tomorrow and demand a refund. I'm sick of this shit. I have until the 30th to get a full refund. Grandpa will be happier with $70, I'm sure of it. Bastards. I like Norton better, anyway.
Bah, essays and studying for math. I can't wait till the END of tomorrow, when I'll come home, bake cookies, and spend the night with Scott.
