Shoot the Tonberry
Aug. 3rd, 2004 12:41 amI love Catnip. Greatest subst-- er, accessory! ever! Really. I actually managed to BEAT Mega-Tonberries. Yes, that's plural. It was... what, 2 or 3 times? Maybe Erin was my good luck charm. She came over to do laundry with her friends Sincere (yes, that was his name) and Kathleen. I was going all hyper showing them video games (Sincere played Bust-A-Move and Inuyasha. He actually BEAT Inuyasha! In about 20 minutes!!) and I actually made it to Cloister 72! (Farther actually-- to 75. But I just got to the Tonberry Terror Cloister, and made the mistake of having Catnip-Yuna equipped as a Black Mage. -_- Instant DEATH!)
But I'm satisfied. I know how to kick some serious ass now. I still want to get the Dress Spheres leveled up, get better at Sphere Break (need to dig up more coins!) and eventually beat Shinra... I'm still stuck at 87%. I know I won't get much better than 96% or so, because I didn't get Leblanc's Sphere (Crimson Sphere #5, I think), so I couldn't open the Den of Woe, and that's a whole 3% of the game. But playing made me feel better! Especially getting so far... and honestly? Chac doesn't sound all that hard. ^^; I've got everyone in their high-80s, early 90s (in Paine's case), so maybe the Infinitio from here on out won't be so bad.
Meanwhile, working on WDKY10 is a bigger pain in the ass than I thought. Every time it seems like I only have a "few more scenes" to write, they end up being ridiculously complicated (read: emotional) scenes that I just don't think I did "right." And frankly, Bakura pisses me off. He's so hard to characterize! I have this one huge scene with him --just him!-- and... well, it's kinda BLECH. So I opened up Photoshop and started (call me crazy) to design a brand new Tarot Spread, for "Mr. Speshul" himself, Bakura. And I scanned my cards, looked up interpretations everywhere, and... I'm still not done. It's a 13-card spread done in a six-pointed star style, with "extra" cards for further insight. The image looks nice, but I have to work out the details of the story, and then the cards relevant to such details, before I can finish.
In summary, everything is a vicious cycle, and I wish I had some Inspiration Juice or something to kick start my brain again. I really need to finish this.
In other happy news, Mamono sent me a new skin for Dragonfayth, and with all my Photoshopping lately, I might just do a few myself, including the default one I've been itching to finish. The one she sent me, ironically enough, is a Bakura skin. -_- Think the dude's trying to tell me something? *ghostly voice* Azzzzzuuuurriiiite! Feature meeee in youuuur fiiiiiiccs! Or something. (BTW, Mamono-- the skin doesn't work completely. I'm going to run through the TPL files and see what's up.)
Plan for tomorrow (SHOCK!) -- run by CSUN and pick up my catalog. Ogle all the cool, too-expensive stuff in the bookstore that I can't buy just YET. While Baba and Grandpa are at their physical therapy thing, I wait at home (doing... stuff?) for the window guy to come and measure the Rec Room Windows. After that, get a haircut! I'm starting to look like Shaggy Dog or something. See if there's a place to get a facial/manicure before school starts. Hell, if I'm going to completely re-do my teeth like they're saying, I might as well get some bite-proof nails and nice slanty eyebrows while I'm at it, eh? It'll be Mer's Not-So-Extreme Makeover! ^_^
Anyway. Back to skinning and Photoshopping that WDKY thing. -_- I hate Chapter 10...
