Does anyone else feel gypped?
May. 6th, 2004 03:08 amUgh. Just watched last night's SMALLVILLE and ANGEL, and in regards to the latter show, a big, fat, snot-dropping UGH is in order. Angel was a bad idea. Season 1 and 2 were pretty iffy, 3 and 4 started making the show plummet, and this is what, Season 5? Season 6? And now they're ending it, and on a sour note, too. Someone once made the observation that fanfiction isn't limited to online; when screenwriters and directors start making their characters act OOC, or they insert new, wildly exotic characters that have awesome powers and tragic pasts (Mary Sues), then they're just as "guilty" of the crimes that supposedly make fanfic so detrimental as us writers!
For starters, they made such a big deal about Buffy, Spike, and Angel being in the same place at the same time, I was hoping that, even for a second, we'd see her. Even for a second. But no, as with all the other instances, Joss apparently couldn't get ahold of/afford her, so we are, once again, tragically SMG-less. HELLO!? Of all the time that's passed between the last time they interacted (Hellmouth, last ep of Buffy), you'd think Buffy might GIVE a damn if suddenly SPIKE IS ALIVE!? Even if this Immortal character hasn't done anything to her magickally, still, Buffy is SMARTER than that! >_< And... not enough expose on this Immortal guy ANYWAY. So he's screwed over Angel and Spike in the past, and WHAT!? That's it? Oh yeah, and suddenly ANDREW, of all people, is giving love advice to Angel and Spike, *AND* turning into a ladies man!? W.T.F!?
Okay, good things about today. Had a nice sleep divided between my room and the couch, which is per usual these past few days... it's sad my mini vacation is ending. I think I'll be working Thursday, though I cannot be sure. Anyway, I didn't play any FFX-2, but I will soon! I solved my Bevelle problem by scanning the two underground maps and combining them-- that way I know where all the towers are *AND* I know how to get each one so I'm not confused. If I want to be particularly perfect, I'll draw the corresponding glyphs. ^_____^ I'm such a gamer phreak for going this far, ne?
Saw "Mean Girls" with Steph. Sort of made me wish I had an interesting high school life worthy of turning into a movie. But I guess for me, a girl in SF, it's not that out of the norm. I bet plenty of other people had made-for-movie lives. I live in a town where the guys aren't all hott, there aren't definable cliques, and there isn't a TOKEN gay guy. Needed more Lindsey Lohan music, though. :P We headed to Mel's afterwards and had a shake-- which I almost screwed Steph over with (Sorry!! ;_;) because I was dumb enough to spend my last $5 on a box of gummy shrimps at the Metreon. And I say shrimps because they were smaller than my PINKY. RIP-OFF! I never learn, do I?
Oh, and I'm going to have much fun with evil!Anzu in the days to come. We return to Japan, and Seto is due to learn about his past-- and willingly, I might add (which I find a bit odd, so Mamono's going to have to justify it somehow-- his feelings for Anzu!? HAH!). I also procured a "How to be a Villain" book. Bwaha. I'm perfecting my evil laugh now. And Illyria, the only "new" character on Angel in this past season, continues to inspire me for the DMRPG. I shall not divulge how, but ANGEL watchers might know, if they read the RP soon...
Tomorrow I must do the dishes, go to Wash, maybe hang with Taz? I ran into him on the bus tonight, and we ended up going to his house, chatting and watching "Rush Hour." ^__^ Jackie Chan is so cool! I finally got my Black Cherry sodas back, and they're still good! YAYNESS. Anyway, I still have to kick Taz' at SCII and Klax. Mwaha.
