Goals?

Okay, so I'm thinking of things I really want... things I might even NEED, will use a LOT in the future... not sure which to save up for first.

Printer/Scanner combo - Definitely could use this, given that I have a lot of stuff I like to scan, and my stupid Lexmark printer is pretty much shot. I'd have to get something like this soon-- since school starting in January = papers I HAVE to type.

Tablet - would be cheaper than a Printer/Scanner combo, I'm sure, and infintely useful. I'd love to be able to DRAW my projects rather than need someone to scan them or something. The question is, can I find one compatible with my computer, relatively cheap, but still sturdy?

Shopping Spree - Well, I do need new clothes. New pants, a jacket/coat, and sweaters, to be precise. No one ever said winter in San Francisco was fun, and Mom's hardly leaping at the chance to take me shopping.

Computer Upgrades - Because it NEEDS it! This would mean a) a data transfer onto a CD of all my old hard drives (2 total) ... b) Upgrades to my RAM, because there's only 128... c) an extra hard drive (a good 20 more GB would be nice) ... d) fixing of my DVD-ROM, so I can play DVD-ROMs again! All of these ALONE would cost a lot, so at most, I could pick TWO with a $290 paycheck (har har, assuming I WORK that much in a month!)

Account Goodness - A subscription to OtakuWorld would be heaven, as would a paid LiveJournal account, or even a Fanfiction.Net one. Heck, a Yahoo! Premium account would make my day... or so would an account with Japan Video! None of those are cheap though, sadly. Too bad so much costs money these days. Likewise, an account at a place like CyberHunt would be fun... I really want to start playing it now! I might even want to read the manga, the story sounds cool!

First I have to start working more, eh? Hehe, I haven't even started yet. :P I think I'm planning too far ahead.

Well, at least you know if I don't get any of this stuff, it's going onto my wishlist, and all those delicious winter holidays ARE coming up... hehe.. ^^; I'm easy to shop for, I think.

INITIATE: BETA PLANNING of SECRET PROJECT ver. 0.01... expect further updates as progression and planning continue.

Hey-lo! Just back from my hair appointment with Lida... I love my new cut! The color isn't much lighter, but I'm all the better for it, in the end-- why? Because 45 minutes with a NON-peroxide solution was agonizing enough (the need to itch was insatiable!) so if I'd actually used BLEACH I would have been in head HELL. I swear. But hey, it's all blended and nice looking, and I'm sporting this cute, Sae-ish cut. So... YAY. I like it, anyhow. o_O People better not say I look like my Mom. I have enough of that crap people saying I SOUND like her on the phone, and talk to me like I AM her, barely letting me get two words in, such as, "I'm not--!" or something to that effect. Kara, Mom's own sister, recognized my voice. Yeesh, why do all her friends NOT, then?

Anyway... got my free pass (admit two) to ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO... I suppose if Joe isn't busy (I didn't think about that when I asked him if he wanted to go the other day... whoops) we can go, but if he can't, the spot is available! >_> The catch is, it's at MY work, so unless they don't mind their own newly-hired employees going to a show (and why should they?) I'll have to pretend that *I'm* the guest of whoever ends up coming with me, who will be the real guest... urgh, does that make any sense?

What else? Dad called me, told me he's had an, I guess "interesting" is the best word for it. o_O There's apparently a super-modelish girl in one of his classes, and she had her clique check my dad out. *twitch* That's weird. And some thug-like guys that just decided to drop in on the class too... hehe, but I think my dad's got a decent enough attitude to deal with highschoolers. He's had experience with Petaluma kids, but somehow I think the East Bay's different... >_>; Anyone want to explain the logic to me, though-- why a girl wanting to go to culinary school needs to learn stuff from woodshop? Tools in general are one thing, but... what's the connection? :P I cook and I know how to use tools-- but I didn't learn one thing from the other.

Hmm... new calendars already. Full Moon o Sagashite sounds like a nice choice... Animaxis.com, mmkay? Easy holiday present for a needy Mer! :) Kidding, kidding... (or am I?)

Augh, Usenet new messages are downloading so SLLLLOOOOW. Message 12 of 161. *tick, tick, tick* I'm really an impatient person. I know I wasn't supposed to, but I scratched my head when I had the color goo in my hair earlier. It itched THAT badly. Good thing I had The Wave and Golden Gate [X]Press with me, 'cause otherwise I might have gone mad. ~_~ I love The Wave... bestest magazine in the bay. And GGXP isn't bad either. :)

Not much else to say... I should work on the awards for Mamo Week now. And my super-secret project! Must get out of the initial alpha stages and into BETA MODE! *Xena-ish yell* Ayiyiyiyiyiyi!! Let's go!

:D

There's a drabble challenge on the SMRFF now, and the 15minuteficlet is something like that... I guess. o_O I'm on a community-finding-joining spree at this point, so I might get my communities crossed.

Ew, ew, ugh. There's a community dedicated to Harry Potter character... ugh... I'm so horrified and sickened and scarred for life, it has to be HIDDEN! Er, asuming your friend's page is white. Otherwise, have fun being shocked. penises! penii! WHATEVER! GROSS GROSS SICK WRONG AND GROSS.

LOL -- when in lowercase, is a stickfigure surrendering to the laughter.

I had other links, and maybe even other things to say, but I just stuffed myself with 2 bowls of Kix and the sad visual of a stuffed cat version of Luna. *sniff* I hope they pull a Sabrina on the SM Live Action and make it a puppet. It's not that hard. And it would look so much better than some random UFO toy. On the bright side, Tuxedo Kamen is pretty hot, though what kind of a guy is interested in 'dry goods?' o_O

http://www.genvid.com/moonstruck/archives/2003/ms20030831.html - Yeah, I was right, Apsu IS crazy. (But I wanna know how the Lunar Archivist DOES this!)

Oh, SFers? I'm not going to JTAF. Two good reasons--
(1) I have a wedding to attend. And if I weren't in Fresno attending said wedding, I'd be in Hollywood visiting Rochelle with Harry.
(2) Ray hates me. For no g0d#@mN*d reason. >:) (Ray, btw, is the one in charge of/hosting the sure-to-be-craptacular event known as the Japantown Anime Festival)

On the Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon live action show (scheduled to be out this October on Japanese TV):

It looks as though the costuming is following the manga this time around; Jupiter's even got that belt of hers, and Mars has her pendant... heck, they even got the SLEEVING right-- Mercury has none, Mars and Venus have 2 ribs, and Jupiter has 3! Pretty nifty. Lots of plastic seems to be involved though. Sailormoon (and the others?) even have their "armor" chest protectors!

The manga synchronicity might have suddenly hit a snag-- especially if Tokyopop still plans on following through with the new 12 volumes (18 volumes now crammed into 12 is what it is... new storylines are doubtful). Why? Kodansha had a tiff with Naoko, but she's got all the say-so now... except, Kodansha's made a deal with Random House to release its manga under the Del Ray name. A new competitor in the American manga market?

The stars of SM are not only girls the REAL age (e.g. Sailormoon is really 15!) but they AUDITIONED for the role! Gawd, how cool it would be to be a teenager in Japan. Most of the girls had some modeling or fashion experience... two of the Inners were even Miss Seventeen at one time. Usagi's actress was in a leading role in a drama, but she's only 15! This rocks.
