azurite: (anime)
*yawn* Good morning. I've been sleeping quite a while... I think. I came home around 9:30 last night, after my "training," and reheated the ravioli from the Macaroni Grill. Mom, amazingly, was on the computer working on a Harris Poll, so I couldn't do anything... she helped me finish up the FAFSA (YAY she even remembered to sign it and leave me stamps before she left this morning!) ...

Urgh, had to make some adjustments. Stupid online FAFSA... it would have been easier to just file THAT one now, since it was quicker and neater, but you have to have some method of having your parent's PIN number (for the Dept. of Education) which is a process I don't want to go through at the moment. So I'm just going to mail the old paper one. Foru weeks of agonizing... I swear I won't get a cent from the state, but I might be able to swing enough for tuition from SFSU itself...? I hope.

Anyway, fast forward... so last night was training and all. I'd gone to the Transcript Office to get that beforehand, and ick, was that place messy and intimidating! And there were bugs all over the counter. Okay, not ALL over, but scattered about. It was quite unnerving finding one crawling up my collar on the bus 40 minutes later! Speaking of buses, they really weren't on my side yesterday! I missed the 44 I needed to get to McAteer, where the office is, and had to wait... then, when I left McAteer, I wandered around for a bit, semi-lost... waited for the 44 home and caught it... but then I missed the 5! Yeesh. Worse, when I had to go to my orientation later on, I missed the 38, even though I ran! ;_;

All in all, I still made it everywhere on time and got what I needed. Orientation was actually pretty boring, but there are some interesting people there. Most are from out of state, new to San Francisco... most are older than me, too! Several of them go to Academy of Art College, and one of them is from Europe and, like me, is taking some time off before she goes back to school to major in Journalism! Ubercool!

We stuck around from 6-8pm, and apparently we get paid for it (which I won't see until my monthly paycheck, I assume). We watched a cheesy video, took a relatively easy test, and got our uniforms-- I had to keep asking Andrew, the manager-dude, for smaller sizes! Everywhere I go, my sizes are different. Anyway, the pants are so stiff and formal... Size 4 was too big in the hips, almost like Penguin Pants, while Size 2 (the smallest) was a little snug, but generally a better fit. Do they really want the pants to go up past the navel though? Or maybe I'm just ridiculously short compared to their other workers, and I need to get my pants hemmed...

So I'm supposed to come back next Wednesday, from 7-1030, for my "usher training." ^^; Fun. Had to fill in the Day Off Request Book for the wedding, even though Andrew said from the start, without any huge movies in the theater, it's not likely that we'll be needed for more than twice or three times a week. That is, until Lord of the Rings and all them come out. Oh joy. At least I'll be making money for the holidays! ^_^ We also got this nice, colorful training binder, which I'm reading everywhere I go... I suppose I'll read it once I have some breakfast! YEEK! It's almost 12! I have to get going, eat, and get dressed, since I need to head to SFSU to drop off my papers, and then help AFX table! *dash*
