This is frustrating
May. 3rd, 2003 01:01 pmI consider myself a font-anon. Or at least a font-o-phile. I like fonts. I like designing stuff-- webpages, images, banners, and the like. Cool fonts can turn an otherwise boring layout into something eye-catching and sprucey. The same goes to actual buildings-- why do you think the AMC movie theaters are so easy to spot? Or what about the Yerba Buena Gardens, with that fishtail font?
Okay, you can see where this is going. At Yerba Buena Gardens, everywhere they have a sign (to garage, or the like) they use this font that looks like a cross between fishtails and cursive. YM Magazine uses it too, and you can see exactly what I mean by going to their website. I asked people about it a while back, but my search went nowhere. Now that I've gotten the newest issue of YM, my search is renewed, and I HAVE TO FIND THAT FONT! I practically know what every letter looks like, but I don't have a name. I tried emailing YM some months (weeks?) ago, but got no reply.
Now, I know this font isn't licensed by YM, since I've seen so many other places use it. It's got to be Freeware, or at the least, Shareware. I know, I know, I'm a nut, but I'm begging for help here. PLEASE, if you can even provide me with a name for this font, I would be eternally obliged. I need someplace to start, and going letter-by-letter through every font site I know of isn't helping. I don't even know how to classify this font, either. Is it modern, is it handwriting? Is it like my mom said, and some kind of rip off that fish that religious people put on their cars? (I call it the Darwin Fish, because I happen to like the one with the legs better) HELP ME OUT HERE!
;_; Please?
