Now I'd probably PAY for someone's prom ticket if they'd show me they could pull this off, and stand a good chance of winning. I was tempted myself, but... duct tape is so sticky to get off, and it's always the same color... mmm... ^^;

Ehhh...

That's it, I've set my journal settings so only friends can reply. I'm sick of people popping up from nowhere pretending they know who I am, know what my life is like, or what I'm really trying to say. People hold grudges far too long; I'm sick of seeing that in myself.

2nd period was okay, even though Gilmore was her usual boring self. We just did book work and some reading off of a worksheet about Adam Smith (the economist). What really upsets me is that she gave out quarterly grades today, and I GOT A FRIGGIN D! HOW THE HELL!? We never turn work in; it's all being gathered in a portfolio, but whenever there's in-class assignments, I'm always participating. *sigh* This might have something to do with a few unexcused absences, but the whole readmit system is flawed. People forget to get notes; when they have them, the attendance office won't accept them -or when they do, it's only with a counselor's signature, and either the student or the counselor is always busy, and by then... it doesn't matter anymore. GAH! I couldn't have done that badly on the test, at any rate. Stupid Gilmore.

3rd period we had our assessment, and since this was stuff I had last year, I was pretty confident that I understood it and could breeze through the test before the 62 minute period ended. WRONG! I don't know how it happened, but I took one look at that paper, and everything I knew about equations, multipliers, and x roots flew out of my head. I was stuck on the first problem, trying to figure out how to discover the multiplier of an expotential problem when I only knew that it would have an exponent of x and an initial value of 17,500,000. @_@; In any case, I had to ask for Mrs. K's help for #1, and I finally got it, but I was stuck on #2-- even though I finished #3-5 before the end of the period. Potter hinted to me that it had something to do with slope -rise over run- but I didn't get it-- when I finally looked up what he meant, it was something I'd already done before, but hadn't made sense. Gaugh... and my grade in there sucks so much now that if I don't get an A on that quiz, it truly is a bomb.

Choir was next, and Mr. Ulrich talked about how there's a meeting at Thurgood Marshall (not the best of neighborhoods, and I have this class I'm in now, so I'll miss it...)that will discuss the future of arts programs at public high schools. Translation: Music programs will be forcibly removed from public high schools like Wash, Bal, Gal, Lincoln, Lowell, and Mission. Charter arts schools like SOTA will lose their funding and will have to reduce their student body, so even if a student attends there THIS year, the budget cuts might prevent all but the best upperclassmen to attend the following year. I hope people realize this applies to them-- it's not something localized at my high school alone, and it does matter whether or not you're graduating this year. You might think it doesn't apply to you, but who wants to see a great program die because of the idiocy of the school board? If you can't attend the meeting (5:30 at TM) then please send the Superindentant and other School District officers an email saying why you think the music and arts programs shouldn't be cut from schools. Good teachers will be laid off, and that's not worth it.

On a similar subject, I sincerely hope many people can come to my concert on Thursday, March 13th. It starts at 7:30pm and is only $5 for admission; I'm selling tickets all this week and next week. Especially since music stands a high chance of being cut from the program next year (even though I'll have graduated), I'd love it if people could come. I wasn't in the winter concert because of my sickness, and after this, I'll be going to Anaheim for the Heritage vocal music festival. So I really want people to come!! ;_; Besides, if any of you (hint hint) have heard me practice, maybe that should be incentive... except when my throat was sore... >_>

Okay, I think I'm done for right now... once my class ends in 15, I'll head home, do the dishes, head to Will's... yep yep. Dustin won't stop annoying me about why I don't like his webdesign. Gawd, people just NEVER accept when ONE person doesn't like something... yeesh. >_< Speaking of webdesign, I better get back to fixing the irks in my Inuyasha page. HAAAI.
