It's a countdown
Jul. 6th, 2004 11:38 amWHEW! I think it's a great feeling to know you've gone and blown things out of proportion, and nothing is as bad as you've made it seem (currently).
All that rah-rah about whatever Mike was going to say to me? Turns out... well, it was something kinda silly, and embarrassing and... y'all know I'm going to tell you anyway. But if you know Mike, then this shouldn't come as a surprise.
He told me (rather randomly, near the end of "Independence Day") that the whole time he'd been on his way out here to the West Coast, he'd been thinking about fooling around with me. I didn't exactly know what to say to that-- to be flattered or what. But obviously I wasn't up to it-- I'd been intentionally NOT flirting and such.
I'm sick of all my inner guilt trips, and the facts, plain and simple, are as such:
* There is one guy I like-like right now, and it is NOT Mike
* Anyone that got involved "that way" with Mike just got more than their required daily dose of Drama
* Mike's a nice guy and all, but he only thinks with one head, and it's not the one on top of his neck
So that's it. We didn't kiss, touch, or have sex. I'm quite proud of myself, actually. All I did was use him as a pillow on the bus, and hug him hello and goodbye. This is all a very good thing. I'm sure he's SOO disappointed (maybe he has one of those lists like how many times he can get laid when he travels), but I don't care. He's just a friend now. :P
Yes, Dez, I'm telling the truth.
Yeah, so he came over in the late evening and we watched "Independence Day." Both of us wanted to hop over to Vince's later at night, but he never called back. We watched the SpecialEd version of ID4 until midnight or so, and, lacking anything better to do (well, on his part; I just didn't want to "do" anything, if you catch my drift), he headed home.
And I went to sleep, so here we are. Gawd, I love ID4. I really need to add that to my DVD collection. I love Ian Goldblum, Bill Pullman, Will Smith... *dr00lage* Just such a great movie.
Anyway, so today is the Geisha Exhibit at the Asian Art Museum... going with Steph, Eva, and possibly Tobey. Mike said he was going on his own with his Mom, so we may or may not see him there. As far as we're both concerned, we said our goodbyes last night. :P Nothing drama-rama filled, nor teary, etc. Just a regular friends-y goodbye.
Gah. I tried packing up a bit-- I got one cardboard box, and one plastic bin. I told dad on the 4th that I was going to try and limit myself to 5 boxes, since we're going to be using Kathleen's pickup (which is either an F-150 or an F-250). But I've already filled those two boxes with BOOKS alone that I want/need to bring. O_O How am I going to limit myself to 5 boxes!?? I don't think I can... I know I don't even *have* loads and loads of boxes, but I still need to pack my manga, all my clothes, my makeup, and at least 2 of my blankets!! What else will I need for college? Loads of supplies-- at least some of my art stuff, of course my Yu-Gi-Oh cards... ;_; HEEELP! What do I bring! Give me boxes, I need help packing!!
I have to swing by Citibank and trade my rolls of pennies for actual moola, then, head to Kinokuniya for ONE measly manga (either FRIEND July or YGO #37). Then, the museum at 1:30... I better get going if I plan to get all that done in a reasonable amount of time. Catch ya on the flip side!

Date: 2004-07-07 06:26 am (UTC)stuff for your bed, definately supplies, computer and all that's needed for it, you'll also need stuff to put your books into (shelves, etc)...but you're gonna be staying at relatives, not the dorms right?, so that shouldn't be a big deal. Make sure you have comfy shoes.
That's all I can think of right now, and plus, I don't live on/off campus, but with family, so will you right? so it should be the same. Just use common sense, don't overdo it.

Date: 2004-07-07 04:54 pm (UTC)That, and hangers. You can never get enough hangers. The basic stuff is what's important, really. Clothes, Cosmetics, Blankets, Pillows... Make a list of stuff. I'll be posting mine in my LJ--- we can compare lists.
When are you actually leaving for college? Oo;
;_;
Date: 2004-07-07 05:42 pm (UTC)*sigh* Anyway, so shower flip-flops aren't much of a concern. ^^; But I'm expecting to leave July 23rd...
