Anywho... why am I up at this ungodly hour? (When I originally typed this, it was 7:00am) I was up only a few ungodly hours ago, and I'm still somewhat tired... my loving grandparents decided to wake me up around 6:40 this morning, even though we're 10 minutes from CSUN (and that's by WALKING), and my appointment isn't until 8:30. I ended up taking a long shower (eew, spider in the tub!!) and then having a nice breakfast, with mozerella scrambled eggs and chives, along with this weird, but tasty toast. o_O Almost everything Baba and Grandpa eat is fat free and whatnot, so if I try to survive off their food, I'll probably become skinnier than a pocky stick.

Speaking of pocky, I got to glomp a tentacle monster at Fanime.

...Yeah, I know you're all wondering what the hell one thing has to do with another. Well, the tentacle monster had pink... appendages! Just like pocky can be pink! Whoo hoo!

Right, so I met up with a Jounouchi crossplayer, and we pretty much took over the con through abuse of our sexay bodies. If anyone asked who we (the bikini clad duelists) were, we were the doujin versions of Jounouchi and Anzu.

Night before, we couldn't come up with anywhere to go for dinner or anything, and we all had very little cash-- I had to do some finalgling with my savings account to get money. We ended up going to Peggy Sue's, I think the name was, which was a bit like Mel's, but with less of a selection. ;P We shared a huge Coke and had different meals-- and talked about everything from bizarre Yu-Gi-Oh pairings to how sadistic Bakura is. ^_^ It was great. And when we walked back to the hotel, I'm sure we got a lot of attention-- two bikini clad girls and a Neko, yelling about BDSM.

We went swimming, we went posterizing, we took pictures... and towards the end of Sunday, we had 3 Yaoi/Yuri posters (cleverly decorated by Jounouchi) and a plan to take over the con on Monday. Jounouchi and all also decided that the tentacle monster (who used pool noodles for the tentacles on his hands) looked lonely, so we glomped him. Okay, I glomped him, Jounouchi FOOTBALL TACKLED HIM. We attacked the dealer's room early in the morning (the wake-up call scared the living crap out of us-- we all jolted from the bed in my room that we shared, and were like O_O! WOAH!).

We had enough time to get ready-- in my case, struggle to get my contacts in. Jounouchi also had contacts, but was much more experienced than I in wearing them; she even donned this semi-creepy one-blue, one-green eye look. :O T'was quite cool.

Long story short (too late), we hung around until 1:30, letting fanboys take pictures of us... we hung with Sailor V (aka Black Magician Girl), and yaoi boy... >_> That was kinda weird. He stuck with me until the very end, even after the con was over (again, I missed the closing ceremonies and the winning AMVs; no biggie, considering I downloaded a few of them last night). I helped move some of the arcade parts down into the Recieving Area, and waiting for Niichan to give the signal that we could go.

Come 9pm, there was tell of a Staff Party, but we still had stuff to finish up. I cleaned up with Cris (who slept intermittently), and Nica (who informed me of computer programs for drawing manga). When we finally finished everything, Yaoi Boy went "home" or wherever, and we went to the staff party. I felt bad about being there, given that I wasn't staff, but I HAD helped clean up-- and I do want to staff next year (cheaper rooms, free breakfasts, and $10 staff shirts!), maybe for the newsletter committee. :)

One of the Guests of Honor, the producer (I believe) of Tenchi Muyo! among other things, actually sat right next to me... though it wasn't as if I carried on any sort of conversation. I was in one of those situations where I suddenly reverted to shy and quiet, not to mention horribly embarassed-- I was still in my cosplay, and I don't know whether the guest (and others, like Nami Tamaki and Duel Jewel) would think I was slutty. All I ended up saying was "Yoroshiku onegai shimasu" after Randy introduced us. I was surprised Randy was so fluent in Japanese; I didn't think he'd meant it when he told me he was! He was acting as translator for the guest!

>_> There was this gray-haired guy who bugged me though, with how rude he was, butting in and asking questions to the Guest; even I could tell, with my limited Japanese, that the Guest was kind of flustered. Worse, later on when I *glanced* at the Rude Guy, he made a face at me and went "WHUT?" Augh.

I felt bad for taking any of the food-- but PsyJoe was nice enough to give me a Chubby Coke, and I snagged a pineapple. I also sampled the weird yellow sauce they had-- which ended up being white chocolate (which you all know is really tapicoa, right? I think so, anyway...) but that was about it. Now, I thought I'd snagged a ride with Vince on the way home, but he ended up getting Daniel's van- and we ended up crashing at Vince's apartment.

Aaron, who was originally slated to come with us, might have ended up staying at the Hilton an additional night-- I think he made friends with the Guest band, Duel Jewel... which is cool, but he might have gotten rebuffed. I'm not sure what happened; we left before things were sorted out.

That was the official end of the con... but since I didn't go home yet, the story continues. Briefly, anyway. I managed to snag the sleeping bag, and Vince, Cris, Richie, Jimbo and I all crashed at Vince's place. We stayed throughout the next afternoon-- though when I woke up, I was the only one in the downstairs room, and I was pit-terrified of dodging the 'Rents. Luckily I was saved by Vince's excuse... ^_^ I got some tasty fried chicken leftovers and a Dulce de Leche Haagen Daaz bar, but the latter didn't do much for my need for sweet. Grandpa tells me that it's bad to eat too much sugared stuff when you feel the craving for it (i.e. when your blood sugar is low), because your pancreas will continually release insulin, and you'll have an overdose of it, making you lethargic and inattentive. So protein! Calcium! Yaaaay... >_>

Later in the afternoon, Vince had chores to do, but Cris, Jimbo and I still wanted to hang-- so we walked to Cris's house, stopping by a Swensen's for some yummy ice cream on the way. It seemed as though we'd walked forever (Jimbo was nice enough to carry my extremely heavy messenger bag post-Swensen's) and then we took the 43 the rest of the way through the Presidio. And we stayed all the way through midnight, watching "The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr." and rating the FHM girls in Cris's bathroom. Hee hee.

Turned out when Vince (and Dorkchop) arrived, Vince didn't have any of our stuff, so we had to go back to Vince's... and then to our respective houses. I was the first one to be dropped off, and ditz that I am, I forgot to snag my posters. ;_; *sigh*

And that, as they say, is that.

Am I forgetting anything seriously important? I dunno. Anyway, so here I am in LA... and I have gotten my classes! YAAAY! So here's the deal:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday: - Speech/Public Speaking (9-9:50am), World Geography (10-10:50am), Journalism (11-11:50am)
Tuesday, Thursday: - Math Ideas (9:30-10:45am), Computer Graphic Tools (11am-12:15pm)

So that's it. 5 classes, 15 credits... wow. And if I somehow manage to swing my financial aid (loans, grants), and that one ScholarShare thing I have, I might just be able to AFFORD all this. Grandpa has been encouraging me to bug the financial aid department to give me more regarding housing-- more is always better, I know, but financial aid confuses me... @_o

I have to pay everything by July 8th, and luckily all the fees include the registration fee for the orientation day on August 12th. Actual classes start on the 23rd. :O It's time to get money!

And as for what I'll do with the rest of my time down here (I leave Burbank tomorrow at 12:30... sorry I couldn't stop by, Eva!) ... I dunno. I'd like to hit up the Mall, but I have no cash. :P We'll just have to wait and see....
