All in all, a good day
Mar. 3rd, 2003 11:47 pmDespite having only slept about 3 hours, I managed to wake up in a pretty genki mood this morning, and I quickly got dressed in those Chevingon wide-legs that Amber and Will love so much, along with one of my new shirts. ^^ I love going clothes shopping. The makeup bag was a great deal and a delish bonus, too. I was a few minutes late to choir, but it turned out Mr. Ulrich was out for some reason, and we had that really funny substitute named Mr. Landis-- he twists the end of his moustache with wax or something; it's really funny looking. At first, he had us singing in our seats, but I quietly made the suggestion that maybe we'd sing better if we were on the risers. People didn't seem to complain so much, but they were totally against the idea of having a sectional (for Altos) when Mr. Ulrich wasn't there. Besides, according to them, Mr. Landis enjoys his lunch. Blah, their loss, considering we have the Playathon this Friday and the concert next Thursday (*sniffle* Please please please please come! I beg of you!).
So we practiced Amazing Grace for a while, and it was starting to sound pretty damn good-- Landis doesn't rely on the piano so much, and was helping each section with their parts... since the Altos have the melody, there was a lot of competition between them and us mezzo sopranos. What was really hilarious was when Landis was trying to help people with the pronunciation of the words-- "AHH-MAY-ZING GRAY-CE" and such. He really was funny, and when he tried to sing the soprano part, his voice was literally squeaking. But the one thing I dislike about all teachers is how they wander off the subject so easily-- or lose track of time focusing on one thing so much it becomes boring. ^^;; But it's all good, I suppose...
Tomorrow is the HSEE schedule, so I don't have to be at school till 10:30. I only have 2nd, 3rd, and 1st period, which is good, I guess, but I hate 2nd and 3rd period, 3rd especially since I have an assessment. Even though this is just the quarter grade, I screwed up major by not turning in those POWs-- and I could have easily done them too. Stupid Dan gets paid to get As; I wish I had that kind of incentive. =P Essentially, I lost 90 points, and have a minor chance of making it up partially with this assessment, on which I can get a max of 30. *pray pray* I just hope logs aren't on there, I don't get logarithms that much. Derivatives, fine. That's easy. But logs? Ew.
So after school, I have to go to a makeup session of the SFSU math tutorial. Then there's the Media Academy, which should be fun... but then I have to head all the way to Will's house to pick up the form for the "Mystical Moonlight" Galileo Boat Dance this Saturday-- I told him I'd need one; most of the schools in SFUSD do for guests to a dance, regardless of if they're in HS or not. So I have to weasel mom out of $29 tomorrow, which means I need to get doing the dishes and the trash soon! GAH! Wednesday is worse-- I don't start classes till 10:30 again, and at lunch I have sectionals, and during 4th period I have to deliver papers, but there's RTA afterschool to drop off Will's form and get my ID back, there's FX, but I have to stop off at home first to set the recording of Angel --it's the episode when Faith comes back! EEEEEEEEEEE! I have to work up the courage to finally talk to Joe, too. I just hope it doesn't rain this week, though that has little to nothing to do with the aforementioned topic of foreboding. Thursday classes don't start till 12:40pm (YAY!) but again, I have to stay till 3:15 (I think) and there's my SFSU class and the Media Academy. BLAAAH! Friday is the Playathon, Saturday's the dance... my schedule is so jam packed!
Cool thing-- Mike came online again tonight and I dragged him into the chat room originally started by Jeremy many many hours ago... it turned into a mainly RTA chat (as opposed to the mixed bag of Bemani Cali people) and then into an FX chat-- the hilarious part was when everyone (even Will!) was quoting from "This is Otaudom." Gawd, that is such the great parody. I might consider a fandub now! WHEE! (Can you say "Ogenki Clinic REVISITED" ...!?) I want to get my hands on the Death and Rebirth parody of Evangelion, entitled "ReDeath" from last year's Fanime. Or "Fanboy Bebop." Those were both fantastic. I WANT. Yeah, I should start organizing a wish list and putting it up on my AIM subprofile or here or at Every Heart or something. Yep yep.
Speaking of my websites, I updated Snapshot again; now it has 67 snapshots! Originally, I actually got Fireworks to WORK so that each picture had its own page with a description and one of those First | Previous | Next | Last things, but then Fireworks did a crapper on me again, and it didn't work. I didn't want to enter captions all over again, and I deleted one page because there was an incorrect picture in the gallery, but the numbers don't reset themselves... gah. Besides that, the stupid program didn't make fireworks for my new images! GAUGH! All the same, new piccies are up. =)
Time is flying by really fast today... I wanted to work on some fanfics and stuff... it won't kill me to get up early (say, 8:30? HAH!) tomorrow and work on them. I'd like to go to school feeling somewhat accomplished. I really want to work on my Yu-Gi-Oh fics (blame it on Stormlight aka Quickening, because of her steamy "Mistletoe" fic) and one of my potential-epics of the Inuyasha fandom, "The Crest." Speaking of YGO, I'd like to start dueling so I don't feel like I've wasted money on my cards... despite the fact that I haven't updated or seriously vamped my deck in a while. *hopeful sigh* Maybe if I start talking to Joe again, he'll duel me? Or maybe he's gotten out of that... -.-; I don't know.
Yep yep, that's about it for today though. Good news for Marcella: she got accepted into UC Santa Cruz! Hah, it'd be weird if she met Shaina and Brooke there, and Marcella mentioned me. Very strange. She actually wants Aaron (her bf) to start arguing with her, instead of being fine with everything she does though... it'll be a strain on their relationship since he's going to CCSF. Damn, relationships sure are weird this month. I was talking about that with Shawn when he suddenly appeared in my 6th period. He helped me move some iMacs to Shop 7, and we climbed the balcony in there. I told him about my old 6th grade English class, and how we had such a posh loft with a couch and velvet pillows above the classroom. It was so nice. Hehe, we started pushing these weird buttons next to the ladder though, and we scrambled out of there after we noticed a tech guy in the back office-- and a red light on in the control room behind the ladder! Hah, but it was fun all the same, catching up with Shawn, telling him about guys and RTA... he's gotten "engaged," sort of, after a 5 month relationship with his boyfriend. ^^; I can't say I don't feel at ALL awkward, but I'm getting used to all this. I just think it was more shocking to find out about my friends being gay -namely, Sung- becuase he was my friend for so long, and told me like last, and not even in private. Very weird. But he'll be doing a two man play near the end of the month that I'll be going to.
Oh, and next month will be crammed too. I'll be missing "Springfest," it seems, as Anaheim is April 25th. If I go to LA for Passover (Apr. 15 and 16) I'll be gone then too, but I'm definitely having a birthday bash the weekend of the 12th... since my birthday's on the monday we get off for Spring Break, April 14th (and don't you forget it!). Plus there's Fanime... gah. So much to do, so little time. Yikes, 11:46 already. I better hi-tail it downstairs for the trash.
