Give it up, 'cause now I'm back

azuriteHi hi! It's been a while, suppose, and I'm in a better mood. Better meaning not horrible miserable, but "eh." Yep, I'm back to "Eh" and "Meh," and "Whatever." Good things...
(1) Spent a lot of money at J-Town on Friday after work. I spent more TIME there than I thought, too. Got the "Duel Monsters II" soundtrack-- it's nice, but mostly BGM, rather than vocal songs. ;_; I guess I have most of the YGO OPs and ENs than I thought. Plus almost all of "Music to Duel By."
Anyway, I snagged:
* Ranma Reprint, Volume 38 - the end of the Saffron vs. Ranma battle, and Ranma and Akane's wedding! I always loved this volume, but I should have bought the original 38 when it came out all those years ago... the old artwork is weird.
* Star Ocean: Blue Sphere Volume 5 -- Apparently this is new. But they didn't have volumes 1-4. Still only one volume of 5 left, and it was a very dramatic one, with Leon and this weird girl and... X_O Ashton's dragons kind of shrank. o_O There's also Star Ocean 3: Till The End of Time, but since that's a totally new plot with new charas, based on the PS2 game that I DO NOT HAVE, I didn't get it. :P
* Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Volume 8 - Neptune is on this one, as predicted! It's the end of the Mistress 9/Master Pharaoh 90 (hey! YuGiOh element!!) arc and the start of the Dead Moon arc. I think Pluto will be on the next volume, then Saturn... that leaves only two volumes, so maybe ChibiChibi and then Cosmos? I sure hope so... ^_^
* Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers) Volume 5 - Grr... Viz is starting to piss me off. They used to be so good about translating things properly, and keeping their manga of QUALITY material... but now they're doing a half-assed job and not even listening to readers' comments! They changed the names in this volume AGAIN-- we're back to "Tsukushi" and "Tsukasa," even though the two characters NEVER refer to each other by their given (first) names in the series! They're Japanese for pete's sake! They go around calling each other by their last name-- and it's a sign of (dis)respect on both ends! Why can't they keep that the same? NAMES DO NOT NEED TRANSLATING! LEAVE THEM ALONE!!
* Forbidden Dance Volume 4 - The last volume... >_< Kind of a weird ending, and a bit predictable. The two side stories at the end made up for it, though. Since it's so short, it has a wide range of possibilities for fanfiction. But why did they change the cover style at Volume 3? Why couldn't they just keep it consistent? ARGH...
* Utada Hikaru's new single-- $7 for two songs. -.- Kind of a rip-off, but hey, I SUPPORT ARTISTS! Hell, I paid $45+ last year for "Deep River" at Fanime-- and that's WAAAY more than it should have cost.
* Yu-Gi-Oh Mighty Kids Meal CDs (Yami and Pegasus) -- Damn those puzzles to find the M. Items are hard! >_> I'm ashamed to admit I actually cheated for Pegasus' one... But hey! There are some great wallpapers and MP3s that are exclusive to the CDs! I'll eventually get around to posting a new layout for BEA and DR, and I'll have a Multimedia section for both! ^_^ Speaking of both CDs, I got the other Ultra Rare, "Millennium Shield" and a bunch of other weird cards...
* Invasion of Chaos - Whee, more useless cards. But hey, "Chaos Sorcerer" is pretty cool.
What else? I updated "Pop" -- there was an error that DarkShadowFlame caught! No one else noticed it! Not me, not Atlantis (who beta'd that fic for me) and not any of the other reviewers! Thanks, DSF! ^_^ I'm going to be doing another oneshot of the same type (not telling you what) soon. Kysra inspired it-- and she's also a fantastic artist, with new stuff up on BEA! She just submitted a new GORGEOUS B/W Ficart for Mamono's "In The Sands of Egypt," but I have to shrink it a bit to post it. You'll see it soon.
I just got WDKY9 from Harlequine-- which means that'll be going up within the next two days. :DDD YAY! And I'll start work on WDKY10 and the Anniversary Special present! ^-^

Yesterday I went to dinner at Olive Garden with Steph and Tobey (sort of a belated dinner with Steph, since she didn't stick around for the HRC one). It was deliciouso! Plus I got a crapload of those Andes Candies. ^_^ I LOVE MINT CHOCOLATE! They got covered in alfredo sauce (my doggie bag-box broke... ;_;) but they're still good! I wiped the alfredo off the wrappers... ^-^
We saw "13 going on 30" after that at the Metreon-- and if it hadn't been for my phone incessantly vibrating, it would have been an overall fantastic experience. Yeah, there were some niggling parts that weren't so great, but all in all, it was time well spent with my friends (and drooling over Jennifer Garner). Afterwards I played Initial D and I easily beat Shingo in my Lancer! WHOO HOO!!! I'm actually going to BEAT a course for the first time! :DDDDD >_> I've never played Nakazato, though. I wonder what he's like.
By the way, Mamono is evil. She thinks I don't understand German, but she's still evil. EVIL!
(Thanks to you, I bought "The Anime Companion." I wish Gilles would update it though. I met him at Fanime, once! He's... cool!)
I wanted to go to the CBF today, but I have to go to work... GAAAH! I'm tempted to play hookey, but it's an 8 hours shift. And I need the money for Fanime and the room... Darn, why couldn't I just be the spoiled daughter of a rich Mafia mobster? Or Mokuba Kaiba? Sheesh.

Oh, slap me. I got inspired for... I think 3 more YGO fics? This is the worst case of "Fandom Quicksand" I've ever been stuck in. DAAAARN! The fics, btw, are:
(1) For the pairing challenge -- Keith/Cyndia "It Wasn't Always Like This" from Keith's POV
(2) "Fallen" -- A twist to some of the duels in Duelist Kingdom, and the truth about Cyndia's past. Potentially a romance fic, but I'm not tellin' ya who. (You can guess!)
(3) ??? - Secret! (read: I forgot!)
Haha, we have 89 members on BEA! I need to get ready to celebrate the big 100! And someone actually joined to tell me to update my fics. ^^;; That's... rockin'.
Gah, I have to go. I'm going to be late!!!!!!!

And thank you for the compliment on that sketch! *blushes* If my scanner every decides to WORK, I'll be sending a few more pictures inspired by Mamono's fic ;-; I have a list of things just waiting to be drawn!

You got me trying pencil art again, though mine is all manga-style-- none of that luscious lips, yummy hair (or is it the other way around) that you do! (I was drooling over Seto even though you couldn't see his face).
I hope I have enough money saved up by Fanime...

It's very rare that I do anything color. Eh . . . luscious lips???? yummy hair???? O.O Really? I do that -- I wouldn't have used those terms but I *do* have fun drawing hair -_-; Probably more than is healthy. And there is a REASON I did not draw Seto's face . . . more than one actually -- 1. I can't draw his eyes right to save my life (but I've been practicing ^_~) and 2. I just thought it would lend more to the tone of the image. Drooling, eh? *grin* I'll take that as a very HIGH compliment!
Now if I could just get part 2 scanned >_
