See you at Fanime!
Apr. 20th, 2004 09:38 pmOkay, so I'm finally registered for my annual convention... call me uncultured or whatever, but the only AnimeCon I ever go to is Fanime-- I liked it my first year, and I've gone for 5 years since. AnimeEXPO always sounded too big for me-- but I might consider it, considering I'll be living in the area as of this summer. AX is July 4th weekend. If I could go to the con and afterwards, go to Magic Mountain, and then head to Northridge to move some stuff in: that'd be great. But it's just an idea.
ReccaCon sounded a bit too small (and far away) for me, so I never got into it; Fanime, on the other hand, I know rather well. I've been pre-registered for a while now, and I scored my room at the HQ Hotel, the Marriott tonight. :P I am going to have to pay my mom back the monstrous amount for the room ($297 for 3 nights) -- plus I *HAVE* to save up paychecks for all the stuff I'm going to need, most especially my "Card Shark" cosplay. Unless I come up with a better idea. o_O I suppose I *could* cosplay as Anzu, but I'd need a specific outfit to work with, and her school uniform would be a pain to pull off.
Mom and I played Scrabble tonight, and she whomped me, even though I had the Q and Z letters. It was still fun-- and Mom kept complaining about how I took so long. You try to think of a word starting with Q that doesn't have a U in it in less than 3 minutes! >_< I couldn't...
I'm going to make a few LJicons and then probably try to watch the Alias I missed from Sunday (Mom recorded it for me; hopefully it turned out okay) ... and maybe play some Star Ocean 2 or Duelists of the Roses or somesuch. And maybe I'll come back later and work on fanfiction.
As for Thursday... I'm not jumping up and down with giddy anticipation. But since I get my paycheck, assuming it's relatively substansial, I have a plan that will entail getting the other half of the guilt off my back. Taking Jenny out to McD's for dinner or something, and talking along the way. I need to vent, and who better to vent to than her? I guess... I mean, I hope I just know who she is (I'm never good with names) and that I haven't gotten her completely confused with someone else. >_<
Doesn't really matter I guess...
