AUGH! Damn me, for getting so into FFX that I've neglected my chores, my to-do-list, and everything else!! DAMN YOU SQUARESOFT! *shakes fist* DAAAAAAMN YOOOOU!
I've gotten up to the Mushroom Road Aftermath. Took forever, btw... X_X I learn now about all the critical things I didn't get to do... like the Jecht shot, and what winning against the Goers really does for you. Blech.
Anyway, last night RIGHT as I got to work there was a major power outage, because some substation in Market or Chinatown (or Chinatown at Market?) caught on fire. Places all over the city were out of power, but it was pretty sporadic, since the theater had only emergency power, but places across the street like Mel's (*growls*) were just fine. I'd planned to leave an hour or two after, since they couldn't exactly put me to work, but I ended up staying, as everyone hoped the power'd come back on (it didn't. Haha.) So the hours went by-- I talked to people, helped close up 2nd floor concession, and even played 20 questions with Co, Maria, and one of the Jens-- it took them forver to guess what I was thinking of, but Co finally got it (it was "paint"). Also joined in a few games of Texas Hold 'Em, and I actually had a winning streak going on, even though I didn't understand the game at first. But when I texted Mike-sensei and told him the good news, I started losing. :P
And as for prizes, we didn't play for money; we put in collateral-- everything from radios to pen caps. But then someone got the wise idea of doing pushups, and eventually I got into that, too. Good thing I didn't have to do any of Mark's "vertical pushups" (Co trying to was a laugh to watch) or the diamond push-ups. X_X Also made a fortuneteller... hey, the managers/AMC even paid for pizza and drinks! Since all the movie food went bad, I mean. Euch, hot dogs... only good when they're fully cooked and warm. I stayed until 11, and then I went home-- but the power was still out, so I had to go around lighting candles trying to find a flashlight. X_X I finally found one, went to bed... power wasn't on at 7-8am, but when I woke up around 10:30, it was back on.
So now I gotta go back to work and actually WORK... Darn, and it's till 11. I still have very last-minute shopping to do tomorrow, plus the things for Mom... gaaah! Why can't I live on Bajor, where there's 28 hour days!??!?
