azurite^_^ YAY! ^_^ Yesterday, Mom, Joe and I went to CompUSA and Target (OMG, Costco in San Bruno is GONE!!! ;_; It's a Lowe's Home Improvement center now) aaaand we got a 3-in-1 scanner/copier/printer! Normally I'd say these things break 3 times as fast, BUT we got a great deal on it, saw it in action, and it's an HP, which is better than any of the other crap we've had (Canon and Lexmark). The Canon one was from '94, so it wasn't really crap, just... er, stone-aged.
I haven't actually tested everything myself yet... the sad thing is, we got the 3-in-1 PSC, ink replacements, a 4-port USB hub, and a USB cable for the printer... and it looked like everything was going to go great, but noooo, there's no USB cable in the hub packaging, even though there's supposed to be! ARGH! And I'm kind of afraid to call Mom and tell her this, as she'll likely say something along the lines of "Why didn't you wait for me!?" (Because you don't know how to work computers anyway) or "You must have lost it!" (Which I didn't; I looked all over for it. It simply wasn't in the package) But I'll have to tell her eventually, because I'm not going to shell out the money for a USB that was supposed to be in the package anyway.
Besides, come Wednesday, I have to buy Xmas presents for everyone. And I have to at least do research into Mom's big gift-- I'm thinking some sort of gold and garnet pendant or bracelet-- she's turning 50, so gold is the proper precious metal, and her birthstone is garnet... January 4th. X_X Part of me still can't believe I'm willing to be so nice and spend so much for her birthday; I guess it's make-up for all the years she guilt-tripped me when I didn't/couldn't get her anything.
Today I'm supposed to get together with Eva, Steph, Rochelle, and Marcella... since I don't have Xmas presents for them yet (key word being 'YET!!!') I'm going to be my Crafty self and MAKE something! The dining room is a mess with craft supplies anyway. ^_^ Still have to call everyone today... I'm thinking 11:15am ish... in a half hour, really. People should be awake, yes? Steph and Marcella are both supposed to call me; I'll call Rochelle and Eva myself.
Still got dishes and such to do; already dusted the computer room, and Mom said to leave our new Xmas tree (whee! It comes with lights!!) in the hall so we can set it up together (o_O!).
Oh, by the way, using AIM on my cell phone is a PAIN IN THE BUTT! I tried to sign off and go to sleep, but people kept IMing me, and I kept waking up because my cell is set to "alert" me with Mugorsky's "Night on Bald Mountain" a'la cell-phone MIDI every time someone messages me! So, no more AIM on the cell! It's a pain to type, a pain to reply to so many IMs... X_X Sorry I don't sign on to AIM more people, but I do work... >_>;
Uhm... working on reviews for WDKY (I have an idea for a banner I REALLY REALLY wanna do) and eventually a scene or two... then I have to do the chores, get dressed, and leave, especially if everyone meets downtown after 1pm. o_O I wish people had called me sooner.
Oh! And at CompUSA, saw two cool cheap things I need to get: Nancy Drew mystery game (hehehe) and The 10th Kingdom DVD set. Only $10/ea!! I hope they're still on sale at the SF location by Thursday... darn, so much I wanna buy...
