Maybe it's luck of the Irish?
Nov. 3rd, 2003 12:11 amTonight at precisely 11:34pm, I arrived at home, opened the gate to the stairway leading to my house... right as it starting pouring in SHEETS. I'd noticed a light drizzle while I was on the bus, near Commonwealth, and by Park Presidio (my stop) it started coming down more. It wasn't so bad on the way home, those 5 blocks or so, but the moment I was safely inside the stairwell, it started coming down IN BUCKETS. ^_^ I am the luckiest girl around. If I'd gotten soaked in that, it wouldn't have been a mere congested nose, it would have been pneumonia!
Box today was boring. Not only was it freezing at first (and I couldn't have the jacket; one guy was using it, then he gave it to another girl in box) but there were a few grouchy customers, and my period didn't help things any. Plus, towards the end of the night when company was lacking, a certain Guy I Used To Crush On talked about as much as a brick. I ended up singing several theme songs to myself, writing ideas for WDKY down, and giggling at references to "Army of Darkness," among other things. -.-; He and one of the managers both think I'm crazy now. Probably, anyway.
YAY! I don't have to work tomorrow, though! 2 days off! Tomorrow is PROBABLY the Matrix: Revolutions screening... I'm honestly curious how the W brothers (don't ask me to spell their name...) -er, that is, assuming one of them didn;t get a sex change like it's apparently rumored- will end the trilogy. I have to watch Reloaded again, though. :P I didn't understand a bit of what the Architect said in the last bit. -.-;
I have to talk to one of the managers, though... about being off Thanksgiving. I mean, it might be the busiest movie day of the year, but...
(1) Only 5 people are allowed requests (legal ones) anyway, so it's not like they'd be losing a whole LOT of people.
(2) They have to pay overtime to everyone... one less person is more money for them!
(3) I have an excuse-- I only get to see my grandparents twice a year. I only have TWO left, and they live in SoCal, which is literally under fire these days. Given all that, is it so wrong to want to see them over Thanksgiving? I mean, I'll work Christmas Day...
Ooh, I went to Venture Frogs, that place inside the movie theater, for dinner. YUMMERS! For only $12, I got Spring Rolls, Sweet N Sour Chicken, and Jasmine Rice! ^_^ Plus 2 free sodas from concession, some "Swedish Fish" candy from a co-worker, and a 20% discount... lovely dinner! Only thing is... had to pay with my credit card... and I have to use it tomorrow (assuming I go out to the supposed screening) to get a Fast Pass. Blech.
Uhmm... uhmmm... god, it's already November. Geez. This is why I never make too many New Year's resolutions, they never seem to come true since time goes by too fast. But I do have to contact SFSU soon. If after all that hassle I didn't get in, I have to apply to CSUN this month. They have a huge student population, but... Well, let's hope I get in there, if I didn't get into SFSU. Because I'm really brightening to the idea of moving to Northridge. It means Mom-freedom, living in a place I like with my grandparents, whom I love (and would give me uberfreedom) and being near Eva and Rochelle, neither of which I've seen lately (of course). It does mean giving up a lot of friends and familiar places, but hey, what else is the Internet for? Besides, Gramps has DSL... ^_^
I'm kinda hungry, so maybe I'll have a bagel. Catch up on my other email, maybe work on WDKY, and then do my little ritual to talk to Michelle after all this time. X_X I hope it works.
Damnit though, Alias only recorded the first few minutes! I ran out of tape! *cries* I had a bad feeling this would happen...
lizchan, what happened? Someone give me a summary! Or a play-by-play! ;_; OSHIETE KUDASAI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okies, buenos noches.

Date: 2003-11-03 03:28 pm (UTC)But it doesn't look like they'll be any Mamo Day awards, sadly, since the voting for the second Overall round went badly AGAIN. I might just have to forego awards for all the holidays, from now on. The only one that ever seems to get any attention is WAFF vs. TAFF day.
*le sigh*

Date: 2003-11-04 03:52 am (UTC)I'm actually really shocked someone didn't come before me and was like... where'd taff day go cause I asked about taff day when it about half over.... around 530 i think. I dunno.... I wish the group was as active as it was a year ago. It makes me go sad face!!! *wails*
