AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!

(1) Brother Bear is like Lion King. Disney has officially and utterly contaminated their once "feel-good movie" name, and now they're out to kill off characters, put the heroes through Angst, Angst, and More Angst, and of course, make the audience cry. And we all know that making the audience cry means they'll talk about their "experience" in the theater, and more people will go to "experience" the movie, and that equals more money for Disney, which they all love. So see it if you want to, but it made me depressed. I cried on the way home.

(2) Mr. Sherrill *SHOCK!* called me and said he needs an issue of the EAGLE from 1999-2000, when I was a freshie, and non-editor. I hated that first year, even though I remember it quite well... And I'm busy now, filled with guilt and angst (Mr. Sherrill said I'm his "last hope") going through files, boxes, papers... and I can find almost EVERY issue except for the ones from my freshman year! And of course, those happen to be the ones I really remember... the one with Alex Chun and his notorious Missing Face, from when Gray Davis visited the school? Or the issue for graduation, with the graduates' names in the shape of '2000' and their pictures intersparsed throughout, with quotes? That was back when we were still using PAGEMAKER!!! I can't seem to find ANY issues of that, but I'm not going to give up.

I have a lot to do today besides all that. I JUST remembered that the Aria's Ink deadline is tomorrow, so WDKY is going on hold for a while (Sorry Seto-sama!) and I'm writing the next 4 chapters of "Information, Please!" as I originally intended to do TWO MONTHS AGO!! I'm such a procrastinator... ;_; Plus Mom wants me to clean up some, of course, which entails finishing the dishes, vacuuming (I wanna do it anyway, isn't that weird?) and mopping the kitchen. BUUUT, since Halloween's tomorrow and I have to work (*cries* How did some people get OFF!?!?!?) from 230-1030 (*sniff* Looks like I'll be missing any meetings that might be happening...) I want to find all the costumes and stuff... but MOM PUT A SHIZALOAD OF STUFF IN FRONT OF THE HALLOWEEN BOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I have to make cookies, work on cleaning my room, put my clothes away, make my bed, put my sheets and pillowcases away, work on my webpages, work on WDKY even though I said I'd put it on hold, watch the recorded Angel and Smallville I recorded last night, work on assembling my scrapbook, and oh yeah, I have to remember to BREATHE!!!!!!!! *pants*

Oy vey. I need another self.

but isnt brother bear based on a native american story from yosemite? and isnt the lion king from something?
doesnt every movie have some form of angst in it? it causes for some character development. a good movie for ya to watch it adaptation, it actually discusses the concept of conflict and angst and etc and it includes some really good irony in the end.

disneys "feel good movie" image is only a fascade. disney has made many offensive movies (song of the south and colors of the night, made by miramax, which is owned by disney). also disney has terrible symbolic messages in their movies. ugly=evil, ambitious=bad, black=evil, pretty is almost always good, and other sterotypical images. i mean their movies also promote loyalty, revenge, etc.

i think they were on the right path with toy story and finding nemo.

but hasnt disney been creating movies with character angst for a long time now? you forget bambi? every once in a while, disney makes a movie with death, etc etc in it. but i mean, how many movies came out in between the lion king and brother bear? a darn lot! you cant just forget everything in between.

at least the writing and scrpit have to be somewhat decent if it makes people cry also cause that means that they got attatched to the characters and felt what they felt, and the moral got across, etc etc. and who knows, maybe disney was trying to be accurate for a change?

theres no shame in feeling depressed about a movie or cartoon for that matter. i felt depressed after nuriko died in fushigi yugi.

in short (cause im rambling *darn hyperness*), dont let one movie ruin it for you! disney will create many happy movies in between brother bear and the next angsty movie.
