I can't find my box of pushpins...
May. 4th, 2003 03:51 pm...which sucks, when you're trying to put stuff up on your bulletin board. Once again, I really need to clean my room. Because if I can't even find a box of pushpins, there's something wrong. I used to think there was some sort of underlying organization underneath all my mess, but there's not. Really.
Whee. I'm finally awake, especially after last night. Didn't get to bed until 3 in the MORNING, and I must say, it was by far, one of the best Saturday nights I've ever had. This thing Chris K. did at the Metreon that I found out about last minute turned out to be an all-day affair-- to be honest, that was HARDLY a bad thing. So, starting from when I got there... ho hum, it was probably shortly after 4:00. I was freaked out that I would only know a few people-- namely, Sean and Chris himself. Turns out Richie, Kenny, Claudine, Aaron, Seigfred, The Guy whose SN is Cerebrus, Gina, Jeremy, Dmitri (the latter 3 there by accident), and Fred (who just stopped by, but it was cool to see him nonetheless; I had to pester him about CCSF classes). And pretty much everyone else I met later on, and I still don't know EVERYONE's names (that is, associated with a face) but I do remember Greg and Brandy, because they gave me a ride home. And I remember the reddish-color-haired girl (I think that was her) because randomly while we were karaoke-ing, she says "Hey, you have nice breasts!" *flush* I'm not sure whether to call this velvet-and-lace shirt that everyone seems to like so much "lucky" or not! ^^;
But hey, before I start waxing eloquent, let's start from the beginning, ne? So there were people mucking around on the 3rd floor near the DDR machine-- I spot Chris and say hi and everything, I hardly know anyone, and I recognize only a few people. I spot Gina upstairs by the 3rd Initial D machine (*snicker*) but the other DDR EX machine is gone. Oh well. I didn't know the Metreon's "arcade" was so huge! Not to mention they even have a KITCHEN up there!
Chris et. al. came downstairs, and we were going to have an introduction thingy down on the grass at Yerba Buena-- and there were chips and soda! Having not eaten since earlier in the day (11:30ish) I was pretty hungry, so snacking on chips and drinking Cherry Coke really made my day (favorite drink, it makes everything bubbly-wonderful!). Talked a while with everyone, got introduced to some new people, but for the most part, I talked to Richie and Claudine.
Then everyone decided they're going to go upstairs and hold a DDR tourney of sorts, but the theater was pretty packed with people waiting in lines to see X-2, and I wondered if we'd even be able to get space on the DDR machine. But of course, we did, and Chris put about 10 tokens up there to reserve spots for everyone participating. I don't get why they didn't use both sides of the pad and pit each person against one another in a Versus battle, but I guess it's because one side of the pad isn't that great, and since it's a PA attack tourney, you can't really do your best with someone stomping beside you, eh?
GAAH! Stupid AIM. Here I am typing this when I get one of those 'accept message' dialogue boxes, but I press ENTER or something while I'm typing, and now the box is gone-- it must have hit 'no' by default! @$%^&%&^$!!! And I didn't even get a look at the name! FAAAAAK. Bonnie suggested signing off and then signing on again, so whoever it was will think I had a freeze. Sounds like a good idea... *pause* Okay, going to sign on again... NOW. Gah, apparently whoever it was didn't take the hint. *worry worry* What if it was someone I would WANT to talk to!? GAAH! ;_;

On with the story. So Sean figured the DDR tourney would last a while, and in the meantime, I was going to go to the bank and withdraw some cash-- for dinner, the movie (we weren't sure which one we were going to see yet), and to buy the "Nihongo Pera Pera" book I've been angsting to get for a long time now, even before I signed on as a Scanlator with Hinata 120%. AND, I'd just found out that there was a Shoe Pavilion near the Metreon (actually, the first time I went to the Metreon, I got lost and walked over there), so maybe if I withdrew enough cash, I could buy the Converse I wanted! BUT NOOOO. Stupid Citibank mails me my ATM and Pin number, but doesn't bother to tell me that I can't actually use either of them for another 2-4 weeks! And that's ONCE I get their stupid Welcome Pak, with all this paperwork that I need to fill out and mail back... which they then have to "verify" with their systems. BLAH! This is pissing me off. Why can't anything be immediate anymore? Oh, and I don't like the CalFed/Citibank ATMs, because despite their so-called sense of humor, one doesn't "dip" a card into an ATM machine, and I don't need to be told that "I'm working on it, PLEASE WAIT, OK!" -.- Gah.
So I had to return to the Metreon after the bank fiasco, with only $5 to my name (in short, thank god I didn't go to RTA friday, or that money would be gone, and, having thought I would be able to get cash from the bank, I wouldn't have thought to ask mom for emergency cash). No Borders, no Virgin, no Shoe Pavilion. BLAH. Everyone was finishing up with the tournament, and we were going to vote on what movie we were going to see. Earlier, Chris said he wouldn't mind paying for my ticket (GUILT!! DAMN!! GUILT!!) but I said that if it was a "belated birthday present," it was fine. Then was deciding what movie to see, and when. Being Saturday, I didn't care much for the "when," but I was sure I didn't want to see something like "Malibu's Most Wanted," or "The Real Cancun." BLAH, not my type of movie AT ALL. So stupid and plotless.
People were pretty much voting for "Anger Management," but there were only two times, one in less than hour (and we still had to eat dinner) and another after 10:00pm. So we changed the movie to X-2, and bought tickets at the automatic kiosks... only problem was, some people bought 9:00 tickets, and some people bought 9:30. Others traded in their tickets, others decided not to go... make a long story short (too late), most people copped out on the movie at last minute in favor of going karaok-ing instead. Which was sad because Kenny and I managed to get spaces at the front of the line shortly after dinner (we ate downstairs from the Metreon, at Firewood cafe; Kenny was nice enough to lend me the $3 I needed -in addition to my $5- to get a Margherita Pizza, which was DELISH!).
In any case, the people that decided to go to the movie went, while the rest of us waited... and watched people play DDR. Grace kept appearing and disappearing (I'm not sure where to, but while we were waiting for everyone to come out of the theater, she was there with me, which was nice) and drew some stuff in my notebook, and helped me some with my font-search (well, she was one more person to suggest I should just make the damn font)... she now has an unfinished spot in my 'Elemental' book now too. And let me tell you, when you see her drawing girls, and you're looking at the drawing upside down, their boobs look a lot bigger. *snicker* Hehe. Ahem, anyway, so I was trying to come up with names for my potential domain name... Grace had me write down words, and at first, I only came up with a few... but then I got inspired by just... well, everything around us, and my Yu-Gi-Oh cards (blah, I was the only one to bring them. No duels) so I came up with a whole CRAPLOAD! And being the friendly, talktive person I am, I'm going to share them ALL here.

So some of them are nice, some are weird, some are just plain COOL... I need to find out which ones are taken thus far, so that can help me eliminate these. And I can always attempt to sort my favorites so I can find that webpage that originally came up with the idea of using strange, flowy words and hyphens to make domain names. WHERE IS IT!? I might just have to open up MSN Explorer and reorganize my favorites that way. I just hope it still works. -.-;
Oh, and for other potential domain-namees, here's how the whole process of words-into-domain-names works:
1) Come up with a list of words that you like. They can be colors, things about you, favorites, lyrics from songs, inspirational quotes, cool words, names of fashion lines you like, names of people, places, or things, foriegn language words... whatever!
2) However long your list is, pick 12 (and ONLY 12!) or so words and put them in random order, with one word paired with another. Keep the ones you like, scrap the ones you don't. For the ones you've scrapped, try putting them in the opposite order as before. Or, if the words just don't seem to work, pick new words from your list.
3) Keep going till you find about 6 that you like. Go to a domain registering service and check and see if any are taken. Make sure to try putting hyphens in, using .com, .net, or .org to change possibilities, or remove hyphens. You can also try using british spelling-- but make sure whatever words you use are fairly common and aren't easy to misspell!
All right, after all that, let's move on, shall we? Now comes the fun part. Okay, so we're waiting for everyone to come out of the theater, and there's still MORE lines forming for X-2. The showings continue all the way till 12am, and there's a show every half hour. It's insane. The lines go all the way up the stairs to the bathrooms on the 4th floor! Totally ridiculous. There's a guy with a bullhorn wandering around telling people to have their tickets ready and everything. I'm just sitting there observing, because that's what I do best. If it wasn't, would I really write this much? Anyway, so Sean was DDRing, and this black guy comes up on the stage and, from my POV, started shadowing him. Of course, when I looked at the screen, it was obvious he was mocking Sean and being a rude arse, which really pissed everyone off (Sean was getting muchos applause yesterday from everyone; he did very well on all the songs, but then again, what else do you expect?). Then he was gone for a while, but Sean had a few more stages to go, and then that guy came back and started pushing Sean! GAAH!
Okay, as it turned out, when Sean was DDRing before, he asked the guy to "please get off the stage," because he was trying to concentrate. You know Sean, he always does REALLY HARD Heavy or Oni songs, so I don't blame him for asking. Besdies, the guy was acting so stupid and immature (and he looked like a walking stereotype, to be blunt. Gold teeth, chains, loose pants... the whole nine yards. He reminded me of "Puff Smokey Smoke" from "Juwana (sp?) Mann"). Anyway, so this guy that I hadn't seen before came up and told the guy to back off and leave Sean alone-- which was very cool, since I was fairly sure he hadn't been in the original party. And Sean didn't seem to know him, but Benji, who showed up after everyone went into the movie, did. His name's Lonnie, and it took forever just to figure that out-- he was being quite mysterious and philosophical. Also turns out he was 19 (he wasn't much taller than me, and the way with my luck with guys runs, he would have been like 16). SO, VERY COOL. And I practically stalked him getting him to tell me what was it he had said in regards to the idiot threatening Sean, since it'd sounded so cool-- here it is:
"Those that lack brains get taught lessons. Those that lack brains do not learn their lessons. Those that get taught lessons and never learn their lessons come back for more. So let them come back for more." (before I knew his name, he wrote his name out in kanji as 'Ice Dragon.' Quite cool... excuse the pun!)
-.- Except-- his hair is nicer than mine! *whimper* Don't get me wrong, I know my hair is shietz-quality, given the number of times I've hacked it or dyed it and whatnot. Before prom, I'm supposed to get Lida to fix everything up and style it, and then before Fanime (after I graduate) I'm going to ask her to bleach it all one nice uniform blonde before I use some washable blue solution to dye it blue for my Rena-cosplay. BUT! Lonnie had hair nearly as long as mine, only with perfectly natural ringlets and SUPER SOFT TEXTURE! ;_; *sigh* Life's not fair. And I use salon shampoo, too! =P
Well, we finally met up with the people from the 9:00 showing of X-2, but we were waiting for the 9:30 people too... so we stayed at the Metreon, all of us on the 3rd floor, until around midnight. That had to be the longest amount of time I ever spent at Metreon. And now, I might just decide to spend more time there, since I need to start playing iD again. Shani, one of the girls in the party, is an iD player too (and there aren't many honest-to-god female players. Gina is one of them, but Jeanette rarely plays for herself, from what I've heard) and actually was ahead of the Usui Impact Blue h03s! That is, until the last stretch, when she lost by a mere 12 meters. ;_; BLAH, I hope to get that good one day. I still have yet to beat Myogi!
So the party dissolved, since a lot of people lived far away, or had work the next day... so by the time all was said and done and we split into 3 cars, there was maybe about 12-15 of us. I can't remember everyone, but I know that when we finally met up to go Karaoke, there was Aaron (who, once again, got himself sick and started smoking afterwards. I swear, the boy will never learn!), Grace (who insisted on singing Japanese songs, even though the highlighted lyrics went by HELLA fast), and a few other people... Lonnie, some guy that slept through the entire hour-long karaoke session... and a bunch other people. I didn't sing any songs myself (that is, by myself) but I think in front of my friends (and only my friends) and THEIR friends, I would have embarassed myself. But I definitely had a great time, and want to go back to the karaoke places. They're not THAT expensive if you have enough people, and even though the rooms are pretty small, they're comfortable.
-.- But leather couches get sticky after you sit on them for a while. Good thing I was mostly comfortable, because Lonnie was nice enough to give me a back rub, since the Chun-Li-style "yatta"-ing Grace got me doing at the Metreon really hurt my back. In fact, I'm in pain now, and coupled with the fact that I can barely DDR due to asthma, I feel like such a weakling. BLAH! Oh, and for the record, Grace is the ParaPara queen, I will never even TRY to out-Para her. -.- I can't even do the simple stuff right, are you happy now Grace? ;_;
Lonnie bit my finger last night -in a playful way- but my finger still has dents on it. And not the kind that are supposed to be there. Well, who am I to complain, I usually LIKE it rough! Just not... unexpectedly so? Ha. Ha. >_>
So Greg and Brandy gave me a ride home in their car, since I'd left my stuff there... hopefully I'll see everyone again, and I don't hang out/talk with Chris enough, which I should, since he's a super-nice guy, especially to rig something like this. I don't mind missing X-2 since I got a bunch done (the domain names stuff, and what follows this paragraph) and I'm going to see it tomorrow with Joe. And there's also recycling to do...! And I have to talk to Huddleston, because for some reason, I got another 'in danger of not graduating' notice, even though I got excused from swimming! AUGGH!!!
Please correct me if these songs are NOT on the 4th Mix Nonstop Megamix. They are not listed in any particular order, and some of them I've left blank since I've yet to hear them, I don't have ideas for which animes could go with them, etc. But listening to Joe's 4th Mix Nonstop made me think of songs that should be in the 4th Mix AMV, and MAYBE, just MAYBE if the people that made the 3rd and 2nd AMVs are receptive enough, they'll appreciate some ideas and suggestions. Feel free to input, but please, DON'T BE RUDE. =) Thanks.

Well? Any thoughts? Associations, corrections, suggestions, ideas?
I'm tired and sore. But I don't want to sit here and scanlate at the moment, nor do I want to watch Yu Yu Hakusho. I think I'll just go back to sleep or something.

-.- But leather couches get sticky after you sit on them for a while. Good thing I was mostly comfortable, because Lonnie was nice enough to give me a back rub, since the Chun-Li-style "yatta"-ing Grace got me doing at the Metreon really hurt my back. In fact, I'm in pain now, and coupled with the fact that I can barely DDR due to asthma, I feel like such a weakling. BLAH! Oh, and for the record, Grace is the ParaPara queen, I will never even TRY to out-Para her. -.- I can't even do the simple stuff right, are you happy now Grace? ;_;
=) Thanks.

I'm tired and sore. But I don't want to sit here and scanlate at the moment, nor do I want to watch Yu Yu Hakusho. I think I'll just go back to sleep or something.
