CSUN is apparently a Pepsi campus. We do not have Coke machines on campus, which is sad for me, considering I hate Pepsi. But hey, I had to survive Camp Pendleton Marine Corps "boot camp" on it, since chocolate milk doesn't have enough kick to keep me awake at 5:30am. So I had to drink Pepsi, and I learned to tolerate it.

Meanwhile, I have a theory. We have Pepsi machines scattered throughout the campus, and all our stores (the Mercantile, the Exchange, etc.) sell Pepsi products. But tell me this: why is it that in the building I'm currently in, Manzanita Hall, the Lipton Brisk Iced Tea (Pepsi Product) is sold for $1.50, while across the way in Sierra Hall, it is a mere $1.00? In that same building, one can go up the hallway toward the 100 classrooms and discover the same thing-- $1.50, when $1.00 iced tea is but a hallway away. What is up with this? In the stores, the same 20 oz. bottle costs $1.40 (exactly). This is highly unusual.

What else is there to report on? Last night was wonderful, even if I did spend too much of it sleeping and not enough of it eating. Scott and I watched Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, always a good flick, and he fell asleep on me about halfway through-- he's so cute when he's sleeping! Of course, earlier in the day when I'd been sleeping and he'd been doing his homework for Senior Project, he emailed me while *I* was sleeping, and said I snored... *growl!* I do not snore!

The night before that, we caught Constantine at Winnetka Theatres, and there was a huge line for it-- but we didn't have to wait too long. Student price was pretty reasonable, too-- $8.00 for the two of us, with the bulk of it paid with leftover money from Baba and the other night, when we went to Mimi's Cafe. I wanted to grab a snack too, so I got a Kid's Pack with a small drink, Junior Mints, and a tray of popcorn, but the idiot at the cashier refused to take Scott's debit card and ID, since I wasn't Scott! Trés lame. So Scott had to go out there and get it for me.

Anyhow, the movie was good-- the previews excellent too. I can't wait for Batman Begins, and Jet Li's Unleashed looks pretty good. I have to start compiling a list of all the movies I want to see this summer! I might even consider seeing Miss Congeniality 2, since the first one was pretty funny.

I liked the movie-- the special effects didn't "make" the movie the way some others rely entirely on it, but at times it was a bit confusing. It might help to know your bible, I suppose, but be open-minded at the same time.

Keanu Reaves is John Constantine, a man who is trying to buy his way back into heaven. See, apparently Catholicism says that anyone that attempts to commit suicide is immediately sentenced to hell eternally, with their soul getting ripped to shreds and all that fun stuff. Well, since John has seen demons and other creatures from Hell since he was a child, he tried to commit suicide once. He was officially dead for 2 minutes, and spent those 2 minutes in Hell. To him, it felt like a lifetime, and ever since then, he's been trying to get out-- that is, spend the rest of his "new life" trying to prevent going back to Hell, since he "died" once and is destined to go there in the end, anyway.

John is an exorcist, and knows a great deal about how Heaven and Hell work. Essentially God and Satan have made a wager-- and humanity is the prize. Whoever can collect the most souls win. The catch is, neither side can have direct involvement with humans. So there are half-breeds --angels and demons-- that are allowed to influence humans one way or another, and force them either into heaven or into hell.

The thing is, demons are suddenly appearing on the human plane, disrupting the "balance" of things. John wants to know what's up, and it turns out there's a prophecy in the making. The same way Jesus appeared and influenced humans --the son of God born of a virgin-- now it's the Son of Satan's turn. He's scheduled to make a grand appearance, but there's a bit of a process to it:
(1) He's got to have divine help (that is, from someone Godly)
(2) He's got to have a powerful psychic
(3) He's got to have the Blood of God

Sounds pretty impossible, right? Well, no. See, Rachel Weisz plays Angela Dodson, a police officer who is wary of the fact that she's always known exactly where to shoot and how to disable her enemies, where to find victims of crimes, and why they've died. The latest victim is her own twin sister-- Isabel, a mental patient.

Angela's heard of Constantine, but she doesn't understand why he's always where he is, or what he does. He's a brute sarcastic who's supposedly dying of lung cancer, since he's smoked a pack a day since he was fifteen. Together, the two of them have to stop Satan's son from bringing about a sort of apocalypse, and they have to discover a great deal about each other in the process.

Anyhow, Angela is the powerful psychic that Satan's son (Mammon) needs, since Isabel is dead. The someone divine is the angel Gabriel, who believes that only with Mammon purging the human race (and thus forcing humanity to face true horror) will those truly worthy of God's love be allowed into heaven. And the Blood of God is on this nifty little weapon called the Spear of Destiny, which has been missing since the end of World War II...

Of course, there's much more to it than that, and a heck of a little secret ending if you stick around till the end of the credits, but you have to go see the movie for that.

Internet access is down at my house-- and apparently in an 80 mile radius from Los Angeles, CA, if you have SBC Yahoo. Must be the thunderstorms... or at least that's what I'd like to believe.

As for the trip, I've finally heard back from Ms. Miyamoto, and it turns out we have to have a minimum of 20 people for the tour, and that number hasn't yet been reached, which explains why all my money isn't gone yet. So I have between now and Mar. 4, give or take, to raise any additional funds for the trip to ensure I have not only money to cover the cost of the trip, but money to tide me over between now and Mar. 27th. And I have between now and then to get any money for the actual trip, which means food, gifts, and what I call "crazy money." I need Crazy Money. ;_;

On my agenda:
- work on WDKY16
- work on CO7 planner
- work on YGO cards for fics, gifts, parodies, etc.
- catch up on any gift stuff to write, either really belated xmas gifts, or challenges
- ebay 'reshef of destruction' since no one commented on my lj post that they wanted to buy it
- switch rooms with scott? we want him to have his bed, and I want a bigger room, so this is a distinct possibility.
- work on darkness rising, blue eyes and apricots, and dragonfayth layouts, if possible
- consider making an all new page for circle of seven, based off the moyra's "arabian nights" set, if i can find it
- get back into sailormoon. stage a marathon of seasons 1 and 2, and try getting the rest of pgsm.
- watch all of inuyasha. devote a weekend to it. get the movies.
