azuriteWell, my email is sorta-kinda-not-really working again. Yahoo!'s going to look into it, and hopefully by allowing them access to my inbox they won't do anything funkalicious. I got 1 out of... I think 7 comments to that depresso entry from post-Thanksgiving, re: Scott problems and Grandpa in the hospital.
Good news? If I didn't mention it before, Grandpa's back, and he's as hale and healthy as an 82 year old who takes a pill for every year can be. *grin* I'm glad. Dad wants me to start recording all these things Grandpa says and knows, but I don't really know what kind of questions to ask him. But the memoir is a good idea-- anyone have ideas where to start?
Oh yes-- and because I'm catching up on journals and the like, there's this:
Wish list meme Instructions
Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two::
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.
Mer's Bizarre Wish List
1. I'd like an honest to god Seto-Téa skin (romantic!) for Dragonfayth. The ones we have up there right now are cool, but the default S/T one isn't all that romantic-y, and the others are actually somewhat dark (okay, Bakura is. I'm still going to have to tweak Mai, because it's too damn PINK)
2. Mm, icons... see the one I've got here? More like that, and either for my other fics or particular scenes that you (the reader) enjoyed. I'm considering getting a paid LJ account, so I'll be glad to show them all off.
3. Or you can get me a paid LJ account for however long. Or extra icons space. ^_^
4. More fanart. For any of my fics. I need fanart.
5. A spiffy, exclusive layout for Blue Eyes and Apricots, pref. compatible (somehow, if I can tweak it, that works) with PHP. The old one is getting stale.
6. An Otogi/Anzu fic, because I'm evil like that, and I think they're strangely cute together...
7. A trip to the ice skating rink this winter with my best buds, along with a good meal, a fun movie, and a video game or two thrown in. Ooh, and then hot cocoa with marshmallows at my house!
8. A Border's Books and Music Gift card. ^_^
9. (I'm running out of ideas...) A 20themes list specifically created for Seto/Tea fics. I know there are some out there for Yu-Gi-Oh, or strictly het pairings, but I'd like to start "special" pages on DRFA and BEA, and a 20themes list sounds good. If you want details on what 20themes are, check out the LJ community of the same name.
10. An honest-to-god COMEDY with Seto, Téa/Anzu, and... Duke/Otogi. Have at it.
Uhm... so I've got one more day (in-class, RIGHT NOW) to finish my blimp. I managed to revsurf a polyline made of two straight lines and an arc, so I have my blimp's body; I still need to slice the tip of the rounded cones for the front and rear to color them separately, the platform/dueling arena, and the base area with windows (if possible). Then, Copy and Paste the dorsal fins somehow, and rotate them so they're all positioned correctly. THEN I can figure out which background to use (I'm leaning toward an explosion or a dark sky with purple lightning-- I'd actually need a large picture of the latter if anyone else thinks it's cool) and THEN I can render the lettering on the side, the material, and the light source.
-_- how the hell am I supposed to get this done? Class is technically OVER, and if it weren't for the speech intramural at 2pm, I'd be long gone by now. Plus there's CAD at home, but... grr.
On the bright side, the math test today wasn't that bad, and thanks to my attempt at doing the extra credit, I got a B on my Ch. 1 and Ch. 2 assignments. YAY! Assuming the final and the stock projects go well, I'll probably have a B overall in math-- probably a first in years! You know me and math-- we don't get along. =P
Need more help with FFX... tempted to go back to FFX-2 and try to beat Chac (that is, going all the way through the damn Cloisters again, but when everyone's at Level 99, what's the point? I just realized how much I miss the sphere grid in FFX-2). Then there's that fic, layouts to be made, things to be done... FINALS NEXT WEEK! Augh.
