Yes, yes, yes! ^_^ You know, despite missing the rare Blood Moon, I had a great night yesterday. I finished my Media Notebook and turned it in, went home and had some delish spaghetti, went to the mall and got my nails done (and as you can tell, I can STILL type! wahoo!) and then shopped around... I shouldn't have kept Grandpa waiting at Borders, but I wanted to get a candle and a bell for Halloween night... yes, I'm going to talk to my sister. I try to make a point of doing that at least once a year, and it's just easiest at Halloween when the veil is thinnest. Thing is, the bell isn't crystal, or even a hand-ringing bell. I have no idea where to get those kind of things. I went all around the mall, and the closest I came was too-expensive porcelain wedding bells at Hallmark. I settled for a christmas ornament with my name on it-- a typical jingle bell, but good for its purpose nonetheless. I guess. With my name on it, I can really make it my own, and focus my energy, I suppose. Still missing some consecrating oil though. I wonder where I put that eucalyptus oil?

After I got some candles (and the girl at the store thought I was 14! She saw the "I Voted" sticker from the AS Votes, and was astonished), a candle holder, and the bell at Robinson's, I swung by Amuse... no decent pins. Not even Robinsons May had any good ones-- all too expensive, the wrong color, or the wrong size. I guess I'll just be inking the ones I already have. :) I swung back to Border's-- thank goodness Grandpa didn't leave without me. I got HG#4, those Orbita Pens I like so much, and Mulan, the 2 Disc Special Edition. (It was on sale for $20, I couldn't help myself). I am determined to build up a Disney DVD collection! Waha! (And maybe this XMas I can finally beat my games, like Kingdom Hearts!)

After I got home, I watched Proof Positive and Kevin Hill (I <3 Taye Diggs!) and partook of some delish roasted, warmed yams! <3 <3 Then came time for my hair. I used this Herbal Essences hair highlighting kit, but I screwed up... kinda sorta. It's not a bad-screw up, it's just a "I don't look like the girl on the box" screw up. My hair looks good; the top layer is a blonde-ish red, and the bottom is my sorta-natural dark brown. If you knew me from the last time I bleached my hair, it's kinda like that, but mixed with brown. Even better, no sting! I watched Mulan while waiting for the color to set, washed it out and watched the rest.

I'm actually looking forward to Mulan II, even if it'll be a butchering of Chinese history (and all Disney direct-to-videos don't use the original actors, which is a bummer whenever you have great comedians like Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams). I'm actually tempted to check out some Mulan fanfiction...

Anywho, I look like a stoplight today (choir windbreaker + red pants) but I'm in a great mood. Did you know that the moon is aligned with Jupiter, Pluto, Uranus, and Saturn, forming a star-shape in the sky? This whole weekend (technically starting with yesterday's Blood Moon) is a very magical time, so stay in high spirits and be sure to enjoy yourselves this Halloween. I'm not sure if my comp will work when I get home, but if so, you'll all see some fics from me soon!

Then comes cookies, costumes, and... eep! San Diego!

And one final note... I've been itching to get this CD ever since I heard the sampler, but I obviously need to get my hands on the Devil Inside single so that I can hear the Richard Vission Experience remix of the song. As for the other sampler tracks, they're as good and better than expected, with unusual twists.

Exodus... The title track is actually "Exodus '04." She says "this is our exodus, '04..." It's a slow, but sort of powerful (with that slowness) song. As is Kremlin Dusk, which I expected to be called "Nevermore" or something similar; the intro, after all, speaks of a raven, Lenore, and Mr. Edgar Allen Poe. o_O Still, a haunting melody, somewhat reminiscent of "Deep River."

If you couldn't tell by the subject line though, my new favorite song by Utada happens to be one that was NOT on the sampler-- "Hotel Lobby." It's catchy and poignant; poppy without being sappy. In all honesty, the story that comes to mind when I hear it is of a girl from Confidential Confessions, or a reluctant prostitute/"entertainer" in Las Vegas. And, it's actually inspired a bizarre sort of fanfiction, which you may or may not see soon... *evil grin*

I wasn't much a fan of "The Workout," and the interludes "Crossover" and "Prologue" seemed a bit useless, but they all featured nice music. Musically speaking, the most "out there" was probably "Animato," which distinctly reminded me of The Sailormoon RPG "Another Story." I have yet to listen to the entire album in its entirety (blow dryers are kinda loud, you know) so I'll finish this review later...

Overall though: good CD and worth the money I paid for it (only $14.99!) and then some. But it's a far cry from what you might be used to from Utada and her Japanese albums, so you're forewarned. Also, "Simple and Clean," despite being her first English, internationally-released song, is NOT on here (surprisingly). I wonder why?
