Today is not my day.
May. 13th, 2005 06:42 pmI just found out that today's Friday the 13th. I'm not normally superstitious, but it might explain why everything's been going so lousy for me today. I couldn't get the moves right during ballet, no matter how hard I tried to synchronize with Ricki and Tenny, the other girls I'm working with... it happens to be "that time of the month," which means increased pain and grumpiness all around (though it is good news in its own right; all that other stuff I was complaining about earlier in the month can't be attributed to pregnancy!), though I had to dash back home to make sure ol' red didn't "visit" all over my jeans before work... work was nonstop dish-doing, so I was a soaking, dripping mess. Oh, and I cut my hand somehow while doing the dishes. When I finally got home, I made a demi-quesadilla but I BURNED my wrist in the process. It hurts like hell, but I have to be back at work from 7-9pm.
I want my first paycheck already, so I can go to some day spa and get a full body massage and facial or something. I feel like I deserve it after everything that's gone wrong this semester... it could be worse, I realize, but it's better than buying some stupid purse.
I already entered a few icontests, and right now with my wrist all burnt and me not feeling too hot, the others (verse and hush) might not be possible by midnight central (11pm my time) or midnight EST (9pm my time).
What else? I decided to use some of my Duel Pass yesterday and I reactivated my Yu-Gi-Oh Online account. I dueled against a bunch of novices-- one time the "heart of the cards" wasn't with me, and the other time the timer ended forcing me to lose (even though it was my opponent's turn)! Still, I've gotten some pretty good cards and raked in a lot of points. Speaking of which, does the "score" you get come from the rating your opponent gives you? How do they "score" you, anyway, and does that affect your rank?
Well, I'd like to duel again to find out, but I have to be at work at 7pm, so blah! No mod chip, no interesting email (only one interesting review), and not much to be too thrilled about, except I might see "Kingdom of Heaven" at long last at Winnetka tonight.
My sore throat's a bit better from all the juice, water, and cough drops I've been having, but I still sound like someone took my voice and sandpapered it (if that were possible). So it looks like I'll be getting another citrus drink for my shift smoothie tonight...
