Your Birthdate: April 14 |
With a birthday on the 14th of the month (5 energy) you are inclined to work well with people and enjoy them. You are talented and versatile, very good at presenting ideas, and you are also very good at organization and systematizing. You may have a tendency to get itchy feet at times and need change and travel. You tend to be very progressive, imaginative and adaptable. Your mind is quick, clever and analytical. A restlessness in your nature may make you a bit impatient and easily bored with routine, and rebel against it. You have a tendency to shirk responsibility. |
My weekend has started at last! I suppose I should call Kaiser and make an appointment for tomorrow, because the pains I've been having in my side the past week (not to mention the frequent asthma attacks) are probably far from normal. But I don't feel sick-- I'm just usually exhausted, which could mean something as benign as low blood sugar.
I hate going to the doctor's.
Anyway, I've been inspired to make more icons as of late, but not enough to qualify for a post just yet. I still have a ways to go, so I want to ask people a few icon questions:
- There are many different types of icons, like Still or Animated, Textless or With Words, and then as a subcategory of the latter, Readable text or Illegible (Tiny) Text. Then there are icons classified into a set because of some singular characteristic (other than the above categories), like they all have a quote on them by a specific person, lyrics from a certain song, and so forth.
What I want to know is, what OTHER categories of icons are there? What are some ideas you run through when making icons?
On that matter, what can you do with Textures? I mean those nice 100x100 pictures that aren't bases, but they aren't standalone icons either. I've played with some a bit-- changing their opacity, rotating them, colorizing them, smudging them, and changing their layer mode to something like Screen, Lighten, or Overlay. But what else do you do with Textures? When making icons, what do you do the MOST of? (Text, Brushes, Filters...?)
