Just shoot me.
Nov. 16th, 2004 10:29 pmMy muse is a very strange, strange... er, goddess. Personified mental occurrence? Whatever. First, she insists on me traveling frequently, and using different modes of transportation. Second, she vacations in Tahiti on a whim, sometimes disappearing for months (or years!) at a time, only to return at the most bizarre or inopportune time. Third, when she finally DOES show up, she acts like a taskmaster and dominates me completely, causing me to forget about homework assignments, tests, speeches, and research.
*sigh* I could be at some poetry lounge right now listening to slam poetry, but aside from the somewhat-thin excuse that I couldn't make it to Fairfax at this time of night (Scott was in class till 9pm), I was inspired-- not just with the remainder of Scott's birthday present (which will also double as a Christmas and possibly New Year's present, so I'm thinking about splurging him and getting him something MORE at the Mall tomorrow or Thursday, when we go see a sneak preview of Alexander), but with a card, a special 'birthday portfolio,' and... WDKY12.
Don't shoot! I take it back! You want me to get to WDKY36, don't you (even though that's almost halfway done, too...)?
Yeah, so I finished writing WDKY12. In one sitting. I'm crazy. Maybe excessive FFX playing kicked my muse into gear, because after some leveling up (although, can you call it leveling up? I just realized, there are no levels in FFX, as far as I know) I couldn't nap any longer, and scenes from WDKY12 just kept popping into my head. So I sat down and started writing it, between birthday profile work, software downloading (yet another thing to get in SF: the Birthday Fun Facts program), and checking email. Oh, and obsessively listening to Sarah Brightman again. (Darn you, Kysra. ALL YOUR FAULT.)
I sent it off to my editors (Atlantis, Mamono, Harlequine), but I think Harley's still AWOL, so if any of my other demi-regulars (Svelte, Snapdragon-chan, Kysra, ???) want the chance, let me know and I'll send it your way. Just to let you know though:
* It's short (25 KB)
* It takes place in the course of less than day (considering the last few chapters spanned MONTHS, that's a good thing)
* It has a very evil, new plot-twist cliffhanger. Rejoice.
Gah, I have to get started on my 2-2 draft for my media notebook, which is due tomorrow. Actually, it's not really due, but she said if we want to turn in a draft for her to look at and comment on, it's gotta be in by tomorrow. I think it's better to write one, turn it in, and improve it (even if it means crunching extra hard because I haven't revised 2-1 yet, either! ;_;) so I can get the highest possible grade for the 2nd media notebook overall, which is due on the 22nd (should I live to that day)!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
Huh, now that I think about it, maybe my muse is worried about me dying and wanted me to get WDKY12 out by then, so people wouldn't think I killed off Mokuba.
Mwahaa.
Anyway, to work! (I think I need fic-related icons. Any volunteers?)
