Apparently smelling good leads to getting a job.

*blink* Okay, so now I'm an officer for the CSUN Anime Club. Public Relations officer, if you want to be picky about it. My first assignment is to make some sample fliers to try and attract more people to come to the anime club... which is definitely something I can do. But of course, if anyone from Anime FX would like to help me out, I'd definitely appreciate some advice...

But yeah, after one of the officers asked for volunteers, I raised my hand... and I went outside to talk to the President, and everyone turned to me and said "Wow, you smell good. You're hired." ^^;; I blame it on the Herbal Essences Pomegranate, Lychee, and Persimmon shampoo and conditioner set I have. Apparently it makes me smell like a Goddess, AND it lands me a job! ^_^ YAY!

*giggle* I'm all excited now! I'm actually getting involved! I made my short speech in Speech class about the Matathon, and a few people took the postcards; who knows, I might be able to spread more word and get more dancers interested in the event! Won't somebody think of the children? Yeah, so as shy as I can be at times, I still think I'll dance for the Matathon come Feb. 25th. Yes, it's six hours of being on my feet, but a) it's for a good cause, and b) it sounds fun! Food is provided, and the theme "Time After Time" makes for some great pre-event activities, like tie-dyeing shirts and making gaudy 60s jewelry! ^_^

On another note, I have the weekend free from assignments (well, except maybe a few minor things, but I plan to enjoy myself today!) so I'm going to work on fics and sites as necessary. The site I have in mind is Dragonfayth, and I still have skins I want to make, pages I want to add, and tweaks I need to... tweak. Of course, herein the problem lies... I've kind of forgotten something rather important... the moderators. I know the following people are mods, but apparently something I did has erased who was in charge of what category. So help me out here, guys!

I know someone was in charge of Challengefics. And someone else was in charge of Oneshots. And I might even be forgetting someone. >_< So... help me out here, because I feel stupid. I'm going to make a "Meet the Staff" page, and I was hoping that any/all mods would like to submit a small (no larger than 100x100) image that I can modify into a "mugshot" picture.

Also coming up-- an actual CHALLENGE page. The Challenge mod will have to email me on this one, as I have a variety of ideas on how to go about it.

And then there's BEA-- I really need to get those nomination forms up, which means MORE loverly PHP coding. -_- Can you FEEL THE JOY!?!?!

Well, Yu-Gi-Oh starts in 10 minutes, and then I'm either going to relax and digest (had pancakes this morning!) or get to work. Plus there's at least 3 video games begging me to finish them... or at least get farther. Stupid Chac. I WILL BEAT YOU!!

I feel half-accomplished.

Wow, I've been parked in front of the computer almost all day, except for the short three-or-so hour period when I went out with Brooke and Mike to DSW and this restaurant near Borders. I can't wait till the end of the month, when I'm supposed to get the remainder of my financial aid-- not only do I hope to pay Grandpa back, but I also hope DSW will still have those cool shoes I saw-- some delicious Tommy Hilfiger boots for $52, some nice Diba purple lace-up heels for $30, and maybe some ballet flats with elastic straps that I can get in advance of the Matathon. :) I'm not normally a shoe fiend, but they WERE cool.

As for other accomplishments, not only did I try something new today (BBQ Chicken and Sweet Potato Mash) but I made an incredible looking sample poster for the CSUN Anime Club. Of course, I was inspired by the fantastic artwork done by Jesse (I think) of Anime FX, back home in San Francisco... I used a similar idea: a full-page anime/manga background, and a "theme" to the night relating to one or more of the shows we plan to have. The necessary information (when, where, who) was also included, as was the "standard" stuff: Free admission, and schedule subject to change.

Since the one show we seem to be showing continuously is Samurai Champloo, I used that as my template, going to the official website for images and snagging a screenshot. I used a combination of Dance Craze and Anime Ace (both caps and non-caps) for my fonts, and a few base colors (navy, scarlet, vermilion, mauve) for my stroke borders. In plain English, it LOOKS GOOD. I only hope the other officers think so. ^_^ It bugs me that we don't really have a set schedule for what we're showing-- it's harder to come up with "theme" names that way. Same goes for the club name. CSUN Anime Club just doesn't have the same ring to it as "Anime FX" does-- and besides, Anime FX uses that cool katakana+English logo. ;_; The bright side to all this is that besides the poster looking good, I could actually print it on a relatively nice paper-- that is, the backside of my blank, brandless CD labels! I knew they'd come in handy for something...

The other accomplishments of the day come from adding a new modification to Dragonfayth-- a Sort by Characters option. I still have some tweaking to do, as the Character Selection page (viewcharacter.php) for some reason "breaks" out of the skin, and the links on some of the menus have brackets around them and odd headers, but... who knows, someone might get back to me soon. Plus I'd like to make character profile pages for everyone, and a "Meet the Staff" mugshot page (my sample page is up at http://azurite.incandesce.org/drfa/staff.html) for the Moderators, etc. etc... There's always more to do.

Next up: fics. I saw some great books on color and fashion today at Borders, and now I'm itching to get a historical costume book so I can work on The Rose Chronicles some more. But priority goes to WDKY11, since I've been working on it over a month now, and it's the best chapter yet (IMHO), so... yeah. Besides, I want to get it out before the anniversary on the 9th of October. That makes sense, right? Gawd, one year of WDKY. It's almost unbelievable. Maybe I should go all out and make WDKY icons and chibis and a comic and... maybe I'm biting off more than I can chew.

I need food, and then I can get back to work.

Final Note: Two guys can hold hands without being yaoi-bait. Especially in the case of Yugi and Yami, who: a) are separate entities b) typicall lack (at least one of them) a corporeal form, and c) tend to get pretty freaked by the new, magical, threatening, and otherwise highly dangerous (at least in Yugi's case). >_< Just... don't make me say it.
