Greetings from Phoenix
Sep. 3rd, 2004 08:14 pmAmerica West: code for pressurized metal tube. On other airlines, it's a joke. On AW, it's 100% truth. And it's hard to believe that the seat is supposed to double as a flotation device, because mine felt like I had two metal rods poking into my butt. The pain! Plus, the whole plane is super-narrow, super-stuffy, and only 2 seats wide on either side.
Good thing Phoenix Airport redeems it all. Brisk conveyer belt walkways, nice AC, good lighting, neat music, and best of all, California Pizza Kitchen ASAP! I love this airport.
At Burbank, I had to check my Smuggler because of my nail scissors. I'm such a potential terrorist, like wut! (J/P ^_^)
But I picked up ELLEgirl and Teen People, along with a cheap-but-okay CD player for only $40! Good thing I decided to bring my new Thalia CD, or I'd be bored out of my skull.
Coming down from the sky and taxi-ing (sp?) took a while, but late evening --> night flights like mine have the bonus of great views (most of the time). Phoenix is (or looks) huge! Like a huge gaudy hairpin, or a giant sequin. But it's cool to think that I'm sharing the same State-space as Atlantis, Ely, and Stef-onee-sama (I think).
My pizza's getting cold.
