azurite: (cute ditz mafia)
Okay, so I'm one of those people that really likes to do things at the last minute. And apparently I'm a lot like my father for saying this, but "People are at their best when things are at their worst." It's why I've always been able to chug our great essays and articles at the last minute, but whenever I study, it all just seems WRONG.

So I am writing my USC essay with very little time to spare, and JUST NOW I have decided on the topic. I wavered from the Mahatma Gandhi quote to various myths, works of art (mainly Mona Lisa or Salvador Dali's works), and now... a book. Of course! My absolute favorite author of all time, Banana Yoshimoto! Now, how do I pick which work?

So yesterday I was REALLY late to work. I thought I was working 12-8 in box, but I read my calendar wrong; I was supposed to work concession from 1030-615! Somehow I'd gotten my mind all warped, because I told Taz I was off at 615, but how did I forget when I started? Cat called me at 11 and asked me where I was; I was so genuinely shocked that I rushed out of the house as fast as I could. My stomach protested mightily, of course-- I hadn't eaten anything (then again, that's because there was nothing to eat. Unless you count eggs and vodka, which I really don't think go all that well together). So I swung by 8 Flavors and got a donut and a Snapple, and asked them to save a blueberry bagel for me.

They didn't want me to open 7th floor right away, as scheduled, so I worked with Leslie on the 2nd floor, gave him his break, gave Box office a break, and THEN I opened the 7th floor. ^^; Corinne showed up to help out, and then I took my break... :) Yummy bagel... So despite nearly getting a write up (or who knows, maybe I still will) for the tardiness, yesterday was good. I even got myself a bag of Reese's Pieces! *dr00l*

Today-- essay, post office (mail USC stuff, get another envelope for the FinAid papers), J-town (manga, crepe), and then RTA (there's some VIP party tonight, I heard. I signed up for the VIP Club since I miss RTA to pieces. And it would be nice to see some people again...). Still have to double check on the last one, to see if I even got on the list. No use going if I'd just humiliate myself trying to get in... :P

I met up with Taz for the first time after work. I think he looks the same as that one picture he showed me, just a bit skinnier-- with somewhat shorter hair. It's still longer than mine! :P Then again, I have a penchant for meeting guys with hair that is longer than mine... CK1, Taz, and Lonnie, to name a few... I even think Niichan's hair was longer than mine at one point!

So we went back to his place and totally abused his XBox. :DDD I got him hooked on Klax! Okay, maybe not hooked, but he was pretty into playing. He even beat me (rounds)! I tried out a couple of other arcade games-- remember Burger Time? Yeah, well, the hot dog got me! :P The NES games were hilarious to look at-- Indiana Jones, Maniac Mansion... this weird Sherazade game that was uber glitchy... Then we decided to play some GOOD STUFF.

Soul Calibur II. (Caliber? I'm not sure)

I'd never played it before-- most people know I just sat on the Harley over at RTA while everyone else played and I commented on how confused I was by all the button mashing. So this time around, I played as all the girls-- starting with Ivy in that dominatrix getup of hers. :P I kicked Taz's ass. :DDD Maybe for about 3 rounds, and he got me towards the end-- but I was WINNING! :DD I was getting all sorts of combos, and it was fun! So I really like SC now, even if the edition we were playing (Japanese) kind of prevented me from understanding a lot. Smash, bash, wiggle the analog stick, pow pow pow! ^_^

Too bad I left my black cherry sodas there, though. :P Hey, but he had some REALLY GOOD CURRY! I mean wow. I thought I'd hate Curry, but it smelled yummy, and it WAS Yummy!

Okay, I REALLY have to write this essay. Like, NOW.

*deep breath*

I can do this. It's like a one-hour fic challenge.

I can do this. :)
