Night of Pointlessness
Jan. 22nd, 2004 09:46 amI worked Guest Services almost all day yesterday. :P Not a bad thing, really, since I *did* want the experience... and it *is* better than Concession... But of course, it was kinda lonely, and I did screw up twice. Forgot that "Free Night at the Movies" excludes Special Engagements, and I also neglected to ask a customer who changed their address what their new address was BEFORE I re-issued the card. Well hopefully the system isn't stupid enough to send a new card out to the old address... *pray*
Most of the phone calls were either employees wanting to see movies or people that had lost stuff at the theaters. You know what? When you go see a movie, DO NOT bring useless stuff in small bags. People lose the dumbest things-- and you wonder how or why. How do you forget that you have...
(1) an umbrella on a rainy night
(2) a scarf on ANY night in San Francisco
(3) an entire bag of EXPENSIVE makeup
(4) jewelry of any sort
I mean jeez. And then people call about other weird things, like wallets and cell phones, and I wonder how the hell they lost them in the first place. When we don't find them, it's not our fault-- the more expensive the item, the more likely that someone in the theater saw it and STOLE it. Oh well. It's sad to have to be the bearer of bad news, but then, you're the shmuck that didn't keep a better watch on your own stuff...
Oh, and guess who I saw at work? It wasn't shocking, just sort of vaguely amusing.
Lonnie. Hahaha. He practically broke my spine hugging me. He was there with some girl who apparently recognized me from Wash, (probably Presidio too) and Lafayette Elementary. O_O Never a good thing, yo. I hate how my reputation precedes me... and how my memory SUCKS. Well, my number hasn't changed, so I gave it to him for his new phone, but I doubt he'll call. I did remind him about my DVD, but... :P Well, I HOPE I get it back.
Left work after a round of DDR (Did it progressive-style-- a 4 Difficulty Song, a 5, then a 6! I got a C overall, but hey, I PASSED!!!) and went to Walgreen's-- I even went into McKenzie's bar on the way there, since Mom was inside with Helena and Gary (how did I know? I'm psychic). Then I picked up Coyote Ugly (after all this time of listening to the soundtrack, now I've finally seen the movie!!) from Blockbuster (the girl there was so nice; she took the movie off the buyer rack and made it a rental just for me! ^_^). Too bad though, they didn't have any strawberry shortcake bars, my favorite Great-Day snack.
In fic news, I think I'm cursed.
You know how people complain about writer's block? I'm complaining about... I think they're called plot bunnies or something. I have *too many* ideas. I just got TWO new Yu-Gi-Oh fic ideas from out of nowhere... and you know, WDKY started as a plot bunny from "The Joke's On You," and yet TJOY is the one I can't seem to work on. I don't want that to be the case with WDKY since I've been planning it so religiously-- I even plotted out the timeline, for the most part. I'd wanted the fic to be 20 chapters long (nice, long, round number) but then I discovered an entire year's GAP in my story. -.- Being the zealot I am, I can't just say "And the months passed, and..." and make the story just keep going like that. So there's going to be over 30 parts, and that's *if* I can keep it down to 1 chapter per month (or less) for the "year" gap. So, lots of speedy action, there. Good thing I have Janime.biz to tell me what's going on in the original series, so I have some ideas for plot fillers. Doom Syndicate and the KC Grand Prix.
OH MY GOD, SETO KAIBA IN A SUIT! I mean a real suit! he is so HOTT! ;_; Why can't guys like him be real? I mean the asshole parts are, but the handsome rich parts, too? ;_; So impossible to find at my age...
I feel gypped. My hot cocoa has .01% caffeine. ;_; I've been thinking all this time that cocoa is a coffee alternative, and I'll be able to stay awake with it, and enjoy the chocolatey ness, but here I go and read the label (again, Mer is a shmuck) and O_O! 99.9% CAFFEINE FREE!!! ;_; NOOO! I don't care about gluten, but I want my caffeine!! This isn't true for all cocoas, is it??? o_O
Angel and Smallville offered very little in plot, aside from Lindsey's reappearance (this is his second appearance this season, I believe) in the former show. And judging by Smallville's preview, Lana's new interest, Adam, is going to be evil. -.- Big surprise. :P We all know Clark and Lana aren't going to end up together anyway, so whyyyy do they keep prolonging it??? ;_; The teenage angst just isn't doing it for me anymore. Alias on the other hand... I only recorded 15 minutes of last week's episode. *kicks VCR* Where do I find out what happened? ;_;
Okay, so I have to go in a few minutes, assuming I have my timing right. Dad wants me to be at AHS by 11:20 or so, and if I leave the house now, I should be able to get downtown and done with money, BART, etc. by 10:20, leaving an hour for Bart and the Alameda buses. Here's hoping I don't get lost or have a bitchy bus driver again, eh? ^^;; I'm kinda scared...
I'll have to finish WDKY8 while I have the chance; my next day off isn't until Monday (and then Thursday, again). So. regardless of whether I figure out what's wrong with the PHP *this* time, maybe an ad for help *in* the chapter will help some. *shrugs* Who knows? I gotta get goin', yo.
