Greetings from a horse ranch
Aug. 23rd, 2003 12:23 pmHey hey, I'm in Petaluma! Uber-rural Petaluma, mind you-- I'm on a horseranch in the middle of nowhere with a 31.2 KBps Internet connection. It's truly sad, but it's better than needing an outhouse.
I HATE ERGONOMIC KEYBOARDS!!!!
Dad's had me trying to fix his computer-- he doesn't have any of the viruses, worms, or trojans going around, but we keep getting those annoying SVCHOST.EXE errors about memory not being able to be written or read. Anyone know what this is, if not Blaster/LovSans, or Welchia?
Currently listening to the ~Wind~ Inuyasha Symphonic Suite. If you know the IY themes, they're pretty easy to spot, but the orchestrated versions are so beautiful-- almost London Symphony style-- I feel like I'm about to cry!
Getting to sleep last night was kinda hard-- I wish I'd never watched THE RING, because I kept hearing drippy noises and expecting a dead girl to come out and attack me. Euch. Finally did go to sleep though, after shutting down the computer.
Today looks to be a nice day... lots of cleaning to be had though. Hm, update on the past two days? Well... long story, really, and maybe I'll retell it later. My life could be a fanfiction, or a manga... after all, life at RTA is a soap opera/WB Drama, so why not?
Anyway, saw Lonnie... he came over last night and we chilled, which was cool, since we hadn't in a while. He was my good luck charm for Persona 2, as I finally got past the damned Sky Museum! Also got farther in SO2 thanks to Joe when I was at his house doing laundry (well, he wasn't missing any appendages when I saw him yesterday at RTA, so I can assume his Mom wasn't THAT mad at him... hehe...).
Lots of clothes that don't fit me anymore, so back-to-school (er...) shopping ahoy! Whee... I love shoppin'. Much to get rid of, as it no longer fits in my dresser and/or closet! =D
Friday was just not my day though. I did end up trying Rockstar energy drink and getting somewhat buzzed. Subway was good, but squished. Those people don't know how to wrap a sandwich. Maybe I can coerce dad into taking me to the Petaluma Market for a baguette and a good sando! Oh yeah, the biggest disappointment of all was that the new glittery lava lamp I've been saving up for was GONE!!! *wails* G-O-N-E! 2000 tickets, and I was SO close! Sick for one bleedin' Friday and... *cries* They had $25 ones at the store along the pier with the cute clothes and such, ybut it's not the same! NOW what do I do with my tickets? Somehow I think a perpetual motion toy will make me nauseous. *sigh* Damnit, I need to annoy Renee for this one, he knew how much I wanted that! Can't he place a backorder!? *more crying*
Ah, so there are still some errors on this compie here. All you techies, help me out here!
We're running Windows 2000 Professional with IE 6.0, Service Packs 1 and 4 (as far as I know, the service packs don't always display in the About IE window), Running McAfee Virus Scan, with no recent viruses-- that includes Blaster and its variants, as well as SoBig, Welchia, etc. We get errors that read:
svchost.exe - application error
The instruction at at "0x77fcc641" referenced memory at "0xfffffff8". The memory could not be "read." Click on OK to terminate the program.
Same thing, but...
"0x77fcc663" and "0x00000000" respectively, and now the memory can't be "written."
Can't copy and paste to word (haven't checked the Print capability yet, that was screwy too) because I get this error--
This document could not be registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to this document.
It cites the following (separately):
C:\Program Files\...\opware97.dot
C:\Program Files\...\aware97.dot
And then "The Visual Basic Environment could not be initialized."
WTF!?!?! Help us out here, please. Okay, back to fixing. Have a nice weekend all.
