It Wasn't a Date! Right...?
Feb. 6th, 2003 01:19 pmMm, I haven't updated in a few days, it seems. Not like I've had much to be engrosed with... yesterday I was supposed to meet Gene in front of the Kabuki at 3:45, to get crepes. We didn't really have any plans besides that, though. Well, I got there earlier than I thought I would, so I stopped by Goodwill across the street looking for parts of my Rena costume-- generally speaking, a one-piece aquamarine dress or a white turtleneck. Neither. I found some other really cute shirts for only $3.99, but I wanted to save my cash for the crepe, and possibly some more Star Ocean manga.
I waited at the Kabuki for a while, and Gene showed up around 3:50... he'd shaved since we'd last seen each other at Vince's party, but he had this smattering of stubble that was kinda interesting looking. @_@ Personally I liked the full-on-facial better. Some guys look good with it, I guess, others just can't pull off that "grown man" look and do better with babyface.
So I showed him around Kinokuniya a bit -we got crepes at Sophie's, I got a strawberry and whip creme and a Lemon Snapple while he got a banana and whip creme with a creme soda. He seemed to like it, since he finished it and all... so I'm glad, I converted another person to Sophie's deliciousness! Haha, I should be a PR agent, maybe? Anywho, I spent so long talking (we talked about random stuff, mostly...) that it took me forever to finish my crepe, and once I did, I was bouncing ready to go into the bookstore, because THEY HAD PEACH GIRL #15!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course, the crepe and snapple knocked nearly $7 out of my $10, so I didn't have enough to get my manga... ;_; but Gene was nice enough to buy it for me, and DAMN WAS IT WORTH IT!
Hehe, well, I guess I can go into the whole delicious I-hate-Toji-poor-Kiley rant later on... mm, there's not much to tell in terms of details. We took a bunch of busses and the F line to several movie theaters, and around 6:15 we ended back up downtown at the Metreon, and we decided to see "Catch Me If You Can," which was really good... makes me wonder just how much of it was real. It was kind of cute in a mushy sort of way, probably Hollywood-ized... but I actually liked Leonardo DiCaprio's acting. *SHOCK!* What next, me liking Britney Spears?! Hahaha... ^^; It was still a great movie though, but I do feel kinda guilty for letting him pay for that... and of course, we went to eat afterwards, the original idea was for a Thai place, but then Mexican... we walked all the way down to California and Polk (there's a great thrift store there that just opened that I want to check out with Amber) to this place called Pancho's. They had really delish chips, but I couldn't get the fajita I was craving because it, like most of the other restaurants in the neighborhood was closing. So I had a quesadilla and an imported Mexican coke (^_^ yumm) and polished off the chips.
He was nice enough to get on the 1 line with me and head towards my house, even though it was a given that my mom (who had stayed home sick) was probably asleep by now. It was 11 o'clock when I stepped inside my house, and the night was clear, but freezing. There was a bunch of stars out... I'm curious as to what "sky" it is now, Seiryuu or perhaps Byakko? Hehe, I think you have to know Fushigi Yuugi and Chinese astrological references to get what I'm saying. =D So I think I'm still allowed to go with Gene to Santa Cruz this Saturday, and he said he'd be okay with giving me a ride back to the city at the end of the night so as to not worry my mom.
This also works out for me, since I want to finishing beating the last two Fields (I kicked Field of Intelligence and Power's arses in less than a day!) but the Field of Courage keeps turning me into circles, and there's this weird room with this platform that moves up and down in little twitches... @_@ Gaugh, maybe Will can come over Sunday and help me out or something. =P That'd be cool... maybe that would be an interesting way to spend Sunday, and see a movie (like "Darkness Falls" ?) to celebrate his getting better. 6_6 I'll have to ask him myself. It's going to suck without Amber around to talk to, but it's not like I don't have any other friends... just like, not many other GIRLfriends. >_> Mm, odd, I never thought I was the type to have so many guy friends. Cool, I guess. I think. @_@
Yeah. At 2:30 I have my math tutoring (augh, I overslept today and missed 1-3rd periods, so math wasn't one of them. And I have so much work to do!!) and from 3:30 to 5:30 is my media arts class. Worse, I'm tired and hungry again! Noooo...
Damnit, tomorrow, hurry up!
