Re: WTF
Technically, using words like "manga" and "anime" are butchering the English language
I said ENGLISH language, not Japanese. It is butchering the English language because the English language has 100% equivalents of these words, yet you still choose to use the Japanese words. Now, one can argue that "well Japanese Manga are different than comics and Japanese Anime are different than cartoons". Which is actually complete and utter bull shit. Bread is bread whether or not it comes from Japan or America. Rice is Rice whether or not it comes for Vietnam or Germany. So why would you use a Japanese word in English speech when there is more than an English equivalent for it?
Well... I'm glad you know people who make you laugh with their thoughts on Japan. Guess what, yours make me laugh. Yours make me see how ignorant you are. From what I've heard, your trip wasn't to further your understanding, it was to indulge in your fandom.
You've read countless books, and talked to people, then took a trip there. Congratulations, it doesn't shohw at all. You speak on the same level as random anime kiddies that watch cartoon network. ^^
Uhm, I said I could log on to a different name, but I prefer 'MY' name. Wouldn't logic presume thaht the other login isn't mine?
There are many people 'LIKE' you, but no one exactly like you. You aren't a generalization, but you are an example that fits into a group, there is a huge difference. Label you? Welcome to the real world. People are simular. We've made a science out of it, so it's presumed that people are similar enough to be categorized, judged and reasoned under, why would you be any different?
Well I never said you didn't care, and I'm hardly a troll. Everything I say has a basis and reasoning behind it. I'm not just calling you "a stupid bitch that doesn't know anything" then running away. So the troll bit doesn't work. So this calling me a troll crap isn't getting you any where.
Re: WTF
Damn! I feel like a idiot, I'm going to stop reading "comic books" and watching "cartoons" and get a real job and boyfriend and hang at the mall. Oh look, Dragonball Z is on cartoon network... let's watch!!
Re: WTF
There are plenty of words in this oh-so-rock solid language that have been adapted from other cultures. An example you ask? 'Angst.' It's a German word with a %100 English counter-part: Fear.
Now, would it seem odd to read a book in the genre of 'fear?' The word was assimilated into the language and is accepted by many as an English word, despite it being a true German word.
There are many other examples of this if you look around you. I believe 'anime' and 'manga' qualify as such words. Their popularity has grown to a scale that the terms have been brought into the language.
The English language is always adapting. Like the word 'ain't'-- it was used so commonly it's been accepted.
I don't see what the point of this criticism is, especially when it's merely someone's opinion. As I see from this, your personality resembles that of a troll, so she was not at fault by using the term.
