Yeah, that post I made earlier
Yeah, Gary Dourdan's leaving CSI. His character's dead now, so I don't think there's any way he can come back. I'm kind of numb from the shock now, because they've gotten rid of characters before, but never by killing a core cast member (at least not on the classic CSI; they've done it in CSI: Miami, and maybe even in CSI:NY, but I haven't watched nearly enough of those to know for sure).
What pisses me off the most is that it's one of those murders where it's just SO damn dirty-- they spent the whole episode trying to prove Warrick really didn't kill Gedda, and they finally figure out he's been framed... he's set free, might just be suspended and demoted but still have his job, still do what's most important (but there's five minutes left in the episode, and season finales NEVER end on a good note, ohshitohshitohshit)-- and it turns out the undersheriff is the dirty one! THE FUCKING UNDERSHERIFF SHOOTS HIM IN HIS OWN DAMN CAR IN A DARK ALLEY BEHIND THE RESTAURANT WHERE EVERYONE WENT OUT TO HAVE A CELEBRATORY DINNER! And because he's the fuckin' undersheriff, he knows exactly how to clean up the crime scene-- the most the CSIs might find are smeared partials.
God. And what's worse is, Nick loses his best friend, Grissom loses the rock of the team, and CATHERINE...! Oh god, they finally had some hints of Yo!Bling in this episode, and now he's DEAD!
(Admittedly, they didn't show him on the coroner's table, but the guy got shot twice, once in the neck and once possibly in the chest. There's just no way you survive that.)
At least with Sara, there's a chance she could make a guest appearance... hell, I'd kind of expect her to show up if they feature Warrick's funeral, but they probably won't; CSI is one of those shows where time keeps passing, and I get the idea that even if Warrick's murder becomes the case that makes up the skeleton of the next season premiere, it might be revealed through flashbacks, or a continuing sense of frustration, e.g. months may have gone by, but the case hasn't gone anywhere, and no one knows the undersheriff is the dirtier cop (vs. Pritchard).
I also caught a bit of the season finale of Smallville, but... given the choice between the two, I'd say CSI was the better finale. Smallville's gotten trite, which is why I've had issues watching it over the past few seasons. I missed some critical part where apparently Lana woke up from her catatonic coma and left, telling Clark to never find her again, but both she and other main cast-leaver Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) are willing to guest-star again. What I want to know is, if Lana was put into her coma by Brainiac in the first place, and only he could get her out of it --but Clark et. al. thought they destroyed Brainiac in "Apocalypse," a) how did Brainiac come back, and b) did he get her out of it? If not, how exactly did she make her "miracle recovery?"
Well, without having watched much of the past (oh, FIVE or so) seasons of Smallville, it's not as mind-consuming as the undersheriff killing Warrick in the finale of CSI. That's what makes me want to cry. ;_; Now playing the video game is just going to SUCK, because Warrick acts as the player's mentor throughout, and I won't be able to play without thinking "it'll be you like this one day!"
Gahh.
