Oh, all of my previous costumes were "hand-made." That is, put together based on particles of clothes I had, the occasional purchase, and some accessorizing. I can't sew to save my life. I feel cheap putting together something from scraps knowing it doesn't look good, could be better, and isn't even really "cosplay" so much as "shoddy Halloween costume." Hence, I'd rather pay someone with skills to make me look good. :P
