I have this nifty tool on my Mac called beaTunes 3 (it's available for Windows, too!) that helps you take better care of your music and make better playlists. If you're missing information (genre, album artist), if information is misspelled, or if it's inconsistent (Utada Hikaru sings in Danish?!), it can fix it for you. It can also provide interesting information about a song, such as its "color" and what key it's in.

The color is supposed to help you organize your songs. For example, red songs tend to go better with other red songs.

This reminded me of how folks make fansoundtracks and fanmixes for fandoms, characters, pairings, and so on. There's a huge mish-mash of music out there that I never would have heard had it not been someone putting it together for the sake of this fandom we have in common!

With that in mind, I propose a challenge for myself and anyone else who wants to try and take it on.

Pick one of the following colors:

Red
Orange
Yellow
Green
Blue
Indigo
Violet
Magenta
Brown
Black

I will pick five songs that fit into that "color," and you will tell me what fandom to write ficlets or drabbles for them in.

So for example, if you say "Red," you might also say "Sailor Moon," and I have to find five songs that I can somehow relate back to "Sailor Moon," and possibly (somehow) explain why that song fits a "red" color. And I shall do it with fic! You can also give me other information to work with, like a character or pairings, a period of time from canon, etc. (Just don't be overly specific, otherwise it'll be like a commissioned fic or something...)

The only rule: A fandom can't be repeated with the same color.

If you do pick a fandom, please pick one that you know that I know...(as in, have watched/read), even if I've never written for it before. Otherwise it might be too challenging! :P

So, here's what we all get out of this:

Me: practice writing again, a sense of excitement
You: a fanfic or five that you've helped create, some suggestions for interesting songs that fit your fandom/character/pairing of choice! It's like a mini-fanmix!

I think I mentioned this in a thread that sprung out of another thread about fanfiction meta or some such, and I got to thinking: it WOULD be kind of cool to have a list for 30kisses or a similar challenge community that dealt with status effects! You know, the ones from video games? Usually they're bad, but there are some good ones, too, and I had to use those to do some of the list.

This is a tentative list at the moment, and could go for some rearranging and better explanation, but what do you think for now? What would you think if I introduced it for [livejournal.com profile] 30kisses? (I'm afraid the way it currently is would only be appealing to those writing for video game fandoms, but I know there's a way to get it to work for all other fandoms--what I need is a good core theme. "Ailments" doesn't work since some are positive, but some people might think "good" status effects are actually "ailments" depending on who's got them or how they act, right? Anyway, check out the list.

Okay, so to celebrate the upcoming release of the third "The Little Mermaid" movie on DVD August 26th, I'm re-watching some of my favorite Disney animated features, starting with "Beauty and the Beast." I'm going to issue a special "The Little Mermaid" challenge closer to the DVD release, but this one is a B&B challenge for any fellow Disney fans out there:

The Prince discovered too late that the old woman with the rose was in actuality a beautiful enchantress. Thanks to Belle, he was able to lift her curse and live again as a human... but what if the Prince and Belle met the Enchantress again?

Remember how, in B&B, the curse was lifted without the Enchantress actually being present? In the musical version of B&B (at least the shortened musical over at Disney's Hollywood Studios), the Enchantress re-appears to lift the curse. Since we don't see that in the movie, it's not technically canon, so... what if Belle (at the very least) met the Enchantress another way?

Rules:
* Set in the movie-verse, not the fairy tale, Broadway musical, Kingdom Hearts, etc. But for the first movie (feel free to disregard the direct-to-video 'midquels' if you don't plan on using them), the version you choose can either be the original theatrical release or the extended DVD version (which has a new scene, if you're talking about the first movie).
* At least Belle and/or the Beast/Prince has to meet the Enchantress. In other words, it doesn't count if just Lumiére or Cogsworth does.
* Can take place during the events of any of the currently-released B&B movies (the first theatrically-released one, the second direct-to-video, "Belle's Enchanted Christmas," or the third, also direct-to-video, "Belle's Magical World") or after-- but NOT before
* Should be at least 100 words (drabble-length) or longer
* If the Prince is to have a name, you can name The Prince whatever you want (but supposedly his official name is "Adam.")
* Can be any rating (using MPAA ratings, G through NC-17 is fine)

Comment to this post at any time with a link to your fic (on LJ or another site, so long as it's not password-protected, Friends-Locked, or requires registration, unless it's NC-17-rated) between now and August 26th!

[livejournal.com profile] obabscribbler rec'd a fic that was done by [livejournal.com profile] edmondia for this meme. The meme interests me, and I need to get the brain juices flowing, so let's do this.

Crossover Meme

Choose 10 fandoms. Post the list and have your friends pick combinations. Write a drabble ficlet crossover featuring these fandoms.

1. Sailor Moon
2. Yu-Gi-Oh
3. Final Fantasy X/X-2
4. Final Fantasy VIII
5. Skip Beat
6. Kitchen Princess
7. Full Moon o Sagashite
8. Star Ocean 3 (Till The End of Time)
9. Star Ocean 2 (The Second Story)/EX
10. Full Metal Panic

So you, dear commenter, can pick two of the above fandoms, and I shall write a ficlet for them. I can't guarantee that it'll be a legitimate 100 word drabble, hence the word "ficlet" instead.

I've just realized I have another squick besides slash: threesomes. I LOVE triangles, because it's human, and adds a lot of drama, but when I read about halfway through the first of only TWO Grissom/Sara/Nick (or G/N/S, as it may have actually been... I'm too afraid to go back and find out) fics on [livejournal.com profile] geekfiction, I had a sinking sensation that Grissom-the-voyeur (spying on Nick and Sara practically getting it on --though I'm a GSR fan to the last, I can totally see Nick and Sara together for a bit, and even Greg and Sara. They're both a bit out of Sara's league, IMHO, but considering how they both seem to like her, I could see it for a brief fling. I can also see them being okay with it ending and her "ending up" with Grissom, too; with anyone else, I don't see that working out: it'd be too awkward) wouldn't be satisfied just watching and/or feeling up Sara once he revealed that he'd been spying on them the whole time. I mean, it's (er, I hesitate to use this word) "doable" for Nick and Grissom to BOTH get Sara at the same time, but... well, ow. So I stopped reading, even though part of me wonders if my gut instinct was right. And you can only know by reading, but... well, I'm in no mood to be "scarred" for life. There are some times when hitting the back button is just TOO LATE. (And why read what's not up your alley?)

So I'm perusing my FL and read a rather interesting [livejournal.com profile] fanficrants "rant" about someone who got a review making reference to an old 4chan thread about "the Holders." It's basically an original forum "series" of sorts-- a choose-your-own-adventure mixed with mystery, fantasy, sci-fi, and horror. Good shit, in other words. There are 538 objects in the world-- originally 2538, but 2000 were lost. They appear in a number of forms, everything from what looks like your average everyday Rusty Keychain to an actual woman. Some people seek the items to see what they do; others seek to keep them forever separated. Once they were one, but they were separated. Something will happen if they are ever brought together again, but what? You can only know by embarking on the journey...

Okay, so you'd really have to be mental to actually do some of the things the prompts say to do (going to a mental institution or halfway house to ask for someone who is the "Holder of **" (** in this case being whatever the item in question is). But the items and whoever came up with them and what they do is actually pretty bitching, and... well, if CLAMP weren't doing something (with a lot less humor) in Tsubasa: RC and xxxHolic, I would say it could be a kick-ass manga.

Failing that, fanfiction. (Now, supposedly, the spammer in question, FBI-san of FFnet, will be writing this story. This person is pretty much just spamming FFnet with the snippets which may not even be his/hers, and has no other stories to indicate there is any experience in writing said fic-- or what universe it might be in. So, who the hell knows? One thing's for sure, with these as prompts, it can go ANY direction. Maybe it should be a community for a fic challenge, a'la 30kisses? Or I could always invent a new list... except not, because that'd be Just Plain Wrong) I'm talking THE ULTIMATE CROSSOVER. Consider this a dare for the bored or masochistic. What happens when you bring them all together? )

THUMBS UP, LADIES!

This isn't Grimms Fairy Tale, folks... )

Tonight wasn't too bad at all. I finally met up with Erin and Joyce (actually, they picked me up after getting lost here in S.F. Haha! I don't know SF driving-wise at all. I think of everything in terms of bus routes) and we headed to IKEA in Emeryville and then got a bit lost trying to get to Dad's place in Alameda. Erin and I played with Roy a bit (Roy still loves me :D :D) and then we went to dinner at this small Thai place with a "cute" young waitress (Joyce kept saying she was "cute," even though I thought the girl wasn't that young; she was probably between 16 and 19, which I think is beyond "cute" age in the usual sense of the word). The food was good, though I had leftover Gai Yang, so I brought it home.

We went back to S.F. and I got to see Erin's new apartment (in which I broke the toilet somehow, because it was running/not flushing and my opening the lid and dropping some tube thing didn't help), which is small, but very nice. And when she gets all the stuff she put together from IKEA set up, it'll look very nice. I helped her schlep all the furniture up the 2 flights of stairs, since she doesn't have an elevator in her place yet (but it's still nice, even though it's tiny as all hell and she's paying $400 more than my mom is- and my Mom has 2 bedrooms and a sunroom!).

Anywhoozles, tomorrow I head to the DLP in Moraga-- alas, the people I was going to carpool with either switched DLPs or are going on Saturday, so I'll be going all by my lonesome (hah) on the BART and bus. No biggie, been there, done that. The hard part's always packing light, especially since this is supposed to be a big important business-type event, so I have to ONLY bring what I need. And I still "need" to figure out some way of using Gary's printer (an HP Photosmart C6100) wirelessly. I figured how to do it Computer-to-Computer (ad hoc), but then it messes up any computers that DO use it wirelessly via Mom's router. Anyone have any idea how to do this? The instruction manual seemed pretty useless on this front.

I hope I can get up early enough tomorrow to still get my nails (and maybe my brows) done, and if I'm feeling bold, I can swing by the Metreon to grab that Writer's Toolbox from Chronicle Books that I want. Maybe the more craft books/kits I have, the more inspiration I can get/dish? [livejournal.com profile] akavertigo and I are supposed to be challenging each other to get writing, but 1) her challenges were HARD HARD HARD (and I don't see how to fit them into WDKY at all, let alone WDKY25), and 2) I can't think of anything to challenge her back with atm.

Of course, I don't even know if I'll have Internet access this weekend, but regardless, I want to have my laptop so I can at least "write" things down. I would hate it if inspiration DID strike and I had nothing to write/type on but little scraps of paper like I did back in the day.

That said... I should probably get to sleep. :P I kept napping throughout today, which explains why I'm always so tired in the daytime, but relatively perky at night. If I just force myself to go to bed at a semi-reasonable hour, maybe I won't feel so compelled to sleep in the daytime-- which, this weekend would be Very Bad (meriting caps, you see).

[livejournal.com profile] geniusgirl was the one responsible for this meme in the first place, but due to the particular (and quite odd!) fics requested by people all around the board, her request (the first one made) was the last one I got to. I have to admit, it's tough duplicating the mood or style of some of these stories!

Geniusgirl wanted something that took one week after "Eat Your Words, Beautiful," probably my most clichéd fic ever. So here it is. (I was tempted to title this "This Is All Your Fault," but I already have another oneshot by that name. HAH!)

Put your faith in me and I'll show you )

I apologize for going out of order ([livejournal.com profile] geniusgirl, I swear yours is next!) but I write these as inspiration comes. Writing something after your request (1 week after "Eat Your Words, Beautiful") is pretty difficult, so I'm saving it for last.

In any case, [livejournal.com profile] winterwing3000 requested a fic that took place 2 weeks after the end of "Strains", my most 'subtle' Azureshipping piece to date. In fact, one could argue that there's really no Azureshipping in it at all. It just happens to STAR the two of them. You can be the judge after this. Replicating the style of "Strains" is no easy task, let me tell you...

In any case, I tried to do this one from Anzu's perspective (because "Strains" was from Seto's).

Here's the music, get up and dance, yeah )

[livejournal.com profile] guardian_kysra requested a fic that either ended the day after MASH or 1 month, 2 days, and 5 hours before Family. Because MASH and Pop were intended to be companion pieces, and I've never had the inclination to flesh them out more, AND because her Family request had a much more specific timestamp, that's the one I'm working with. For those of you unfamiliar with "Family," one of my WIPs regarding Seto and Téa (and Téa essentially becoming a mother while still in high school), check out the fic here.

Because Kysra's got stellar timing, this fic takes place on New Year's Eve, prior to the start of Family, Chapter 1. For the record, I have no intention of working this into the fic itself; this is all-original, all-new. I don't think it'll have any huge bearing on the story, so think of it as sort of a Director's Cut version of the story's beginning.

[livejournal.com profile] rhapsody_dragon requested a ficlet taking place 20 minutes after the end of "The Joke's On You," which I've only released the first chapter of. I have planned out almost all the subsequent chapters (I haven't actually focused on them or published them due to an uncanny latter-chapter resemblance between it and Prophecy Girl, another one of my Battle City fics)

So for your viewing perusal, a snippet from the unreleased Chapter 2 of The Joke's On You... 20 minutes after the end of Chapter 1.

"So if your life was a movie, what would the soundtrack be?"

So, here's how it works:
1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie

Opening Credits: Friday on My Mind - Noogie (I believe this was the opening song for the "A Walk To Remember" movie, so I suppose it fits in its own way)
Waking up: Strider Vibe Victory OCRemix - Quinn Fox (Hey, this kind of works. It's kind a kind of slow start, and then gets a bit peppy.)
First Day of School: Going Under - Evanescence (Yes, school really was that miserable for me.)
Falling in Love: E.V.O. Evolutionary Means OCRemix - Russell Cox Hehe, it's weird to have an OCRemix for a life themesong, but I knew it would happen; I have over 1200 OCRemix songs in my library, so of course one of them would end up in here. But it kind of sounds cute enough to work.)
Getting it on: Ai no Uta - Do As Infinity (The name of the song might be "Song of Love," but it's not that kind of smexxing song. o_O)
Fight Song: Secret of Mana/Time in the Clouds DX OCRemix - Kailem (Okay, so I'm a pretty magical girl with a battle scene that involves lots of sparkles and magic attacks.)
Breaking Up: Stayin' Alive MAX - TWO MIX (Hahaha. It almost works.)
Prom: Goodbye Until Tomorrow/I Could Never Rescue You - Norbert Leo Butz; Sherie René Scott
Life: Open Your Mind ~spread the small wings~ - Yoko Ishida (Hm, it works to a degree.)
Mental Breakdown: Got The Jitters - Don Redman & Orchestra (This is just pure irony. This is like the "I'm going mental but in a 20s silent picture with the orchestral music in the background.")
Driving: Final Fantasy 6/Kefka Goes Carnival OCRemix (This should have been the theme to the last one.)
Flashback: The Comeback Card - Yu-Gi-Oh Sound Duel 4 (Flashing back... to Ancient Egypt!)
Wedding: Around the World - ATC (Techno wedding for the win! I think I must have listened to this song ENDLESSLY during my sophomore year of high school. But not by choice-- I think Cassie loved it so much, she always had it on repeat.)
Birth of Child: Green - Edie Brickell (It's a song about ENVY. What?)
Final Battle: Final Fantasy X-2/Labyrinth - Square-Enix (A battle filled with mystery and confusion!)
Death Scene: Canta Per Me - Yuki Kajiura (Ooh, I have a really dramatic angsty death filled with violins, cellos, and Latin! And possibly a gun battle!)
Funeral Song: Causing a Commotion - Madonna (Because that's what I did. My whole damn life long.)
Closing Credits: Light One Candle - Cast of "Fiddler on the Roof" (The irony is that it's Hanukkah, and I lit some candles earlier to help me not cry when I was chopping onions.)

Speaking of Hanukkah, I successfully made latkes! I was worried because Japanese potatoes aren't as big as American ones, and as I discovered while grating them, they're also a hell of a lot more watery. But I continuously got as much water/starch liquid out of them as I could, using both a colander and paper towels. Then I chopped up an onion, added some salt and pepper into the egg and matzoh (crushed) mix, and mixed it all up. Then I fried them in extra virgin olive oil. I decided to eat the first two for myself (lunch), and they turned out good, even if the potatoes were grated into something more like mush and less like the strings of potatoes I kept seeing in the recipes.

But they're okay! So I've got to make more for the party, which is in about an hour and forty-five minutes. My eyes still sting a bit from the onions, though. :P

Ahem. So I finally managed to get my hands on "The Prestige." I saw the preview of it a few weeks back with some girls in my EC group, and I was wishing SO hard it would come to Japan (even though I doubted it). But after reading a bit more about the movie, a bit of an idea came in my head (re: Hugh Jackman's character), and so now I have a challenge for any interested parties. It's actually quite simple:

Use the following line in a fanfic: "Why would a rich man suddenly care to dabble in magic?"

You can change the line slightly as you see fit, but the general gist of it must still be there.

  • Any fandom.

  • Any genre.

  • Any characters speaking/being spoken to/about.

  • Any length.

  • Any rating.

As with my previous challenge, I would very much like to see a Yu-Gi-Oh fic for this, if only because when I first thought of this, I had Anzu saying it to/about Seto. But I realized it could also apply to any number of other characters, including Pegasus, Sugoroku in his early days, Otogi, etc. etc. It could even be said by and/or about an original character, but could somehow tie into the canon of your fandom of choice!

Comment if you'd like to do this; if you finish this challenge, comment (again) with a link to the fic(let).

Well, fuck. I went to Dragonfayth to finally post the Winter challenge I mentioned here in my LJ a while back, and I noticed there were over 1000 challenge PAGES. Not individual challenges, but CHALLENGE PAGES. Of course all but 2 were spam, and I'm stuck deleting them in batches of 30 in phpMyAdmin. This will take a while. I've since patched eFic 2.0 to not allow anonymous challenges. I will eventually add my winter challenge, and I hope anyone else who has made prompts, fanmixes, or anything else will consider joining DRFA (if they haven't already) and including their challenges.

I'm also contemplating doing a complete overhaul of the databases on my domain, because
a) no one uses the Betasquad forums, to my knowledge, and it's not worth the extra space to have it there.
b) they're disorganized as it is, with the old Epiphany eFic tables located in the same database as Dragonfayth's, WikiFic, and phpBB. But I don't know if/how I can move those sites that I still intend to keep active (i.e. WikiFic, Dragonfayth, eventually Epiphany) to their own databases. Can anyone help?

Oh, and one more thing...

SCOTT IS COMING HOME!
I probably shouldn't be so thrilled that it didn't work out for him in Turkmenistan, and truthfully, it *WAS* unexpected (for him to say he was going back to the U.S), but for some reason, I'm happy that I'll get to see him MUCH sooner than either of us thought.

Oh, I hate you [livejournal.com profile] kirschreich! I saw the 42 prompts linked in [livejournal.com profile] weekly_ygo for the Editor's Choice, and I decided to click to re-read. And then my muse popped her head out and said "Why not give blurb writing a try?" EVEN THOUGH this contradicts
a) my need to write SOMETHING Sailor Moon, namely my was-supposed-to-be-for-TAFF-Day fic
b) my absolute desire to get WDKY25 finished and away from me
c) my big, major, huge need to get to work on my book/project for my scholarship, aka a comparison of female writers, manga-ka, male writers and manga-ka... either between each other (writers vs. manga-ka, men vs. women) or throughout time... or maybe that TOO, if I can get the research for it.

But I'm just testing the waters, really. To see if I can write "teasers." And I don't mean "oneshots that are begging to be continued," like so many of my other unfinished (and need to be revised) fics. So here we go.

I picked from the list at random-- whatever inspired me. So if I ever end up finishing the whole damn list, I might just post them up at communities (well, [livejournal.com profile] setoanzulove for one...)

Presenting the First Annual Yu-Gi-Oh Novella Contest!
It is almost exactly what it sounds like: a novella contest geared toward Yu-Gi-Oh fanfics, AUs included. You can check here for the shonen-ai/yaoi challenge, and here for the gen/het challenge.

All fics submitted must fit into one of two categories:
15,000 words minimum (short novella)
25,000 words minimum (long novella)

along with the "main" category of shonen-ai/yaoi or gen/het. (Technically, those are 4 categories, but because of the split between the judges, we're considering them two. You should still indicate WHICH of them your fic is... if your fic has smexy boy on boy action, it's yaoi. If it's simple fluff, it's shonen-ai. If there's no romance whatsoever, it's gen. And if it's between a boy and a girl, it's het. The het category is open to all ratings, G-NC17 or equivalent. There is no yuri/shoujo-ai category at this time.)

Apollymi and Katsuko will be judging the shonen-ai and yaoi categories, while Katsuko and I will judge the gen and the het. Readers/other participants will also have the chance to judge fics, as comments from reviewers ARE taken into account for the final judging process!

Please email either me or Apollymi if you intend on entering the contest!
All the rules, details, and specs are at the site(s), but the general info to include in your email is this:

¤ Author Pseudonym
¤ Author Email Address
¤ Author Webpage (if applicable)
¤ Story Title
¤ Category (shounen-ai/yaoi or gen/het)
¤ Pairings
¤ Word Count
¤ Summary
¤ Author's Notes (if applicable)

You may also comment here ON THIS ENTRY ONLY if you intend on entering in the gen/het category! You have until December 15th to get writing and submit it to either myself or Apollymi!

Please let me know if you intend on entering BEFORE WEDNESDAY, JUNE 21, 2006!!!!!!!

Ah, crazy ol' me has decided to sell all of my Yu-Gi-Oh TCG cards. Probably even the ones I thought I couldn't part with before, like my special promos and my Dragon Deck. I mean, aside from decoration in my Duel Disk when I cosplay Anzu, what's the use? I might keep a single deck's worth, but they'll only be for decoration.

Anyway, the reason why I haven't announced anything on [livejournal.com profile] yu_gi_oh or similar comms/mailing lists yet is because I'm compiling a list of all the cards. That's a lot of cards-- 448 just for Normal Monsters, and I'm only about 1/3 through the Effect Monsters. Then come Ritual and Fusion Monsters, then Spells/Magic, and finally, Traps. So I have lots to sell. I'm going to buy a Beckett's or Pojo guide in the hopes of getting updated values for the cards, since I am essentially selling EVERYTHING, but I want to know what to package (either by theme/deck type or as "grab bag") and what to sell individually.

I don't know why this has got me so excited; I don't even know if/when I'll make any money off this. But I'd like to try. :) If anyone on my FL is interested in Yu-Gi-Oh TCG cards, drop me a line and I'll see if I can sell you something.

I've also decided that another one of my summer projects (aside from getting organized, as usual) is to participate in the June [livejournal.com profile] sm_monthly. The theme is finally something I *WANT* to do-- namely "Starlights." I've had a few plot bunnies lying around that I want to tackle, so hopefully tomorrow's first theme will serve as inspirational. If I can't finish WDKY (lack of inspiration, really...) then at least I can focus my creativity somewhere. I'd like to finish my themed icon claims too, but yeesh, that'll take even longer and requires even more resources.

Finally, there's WikiFic, which I already mentioned I'm working on. So sign up, help out, and check what pages and images we need. There's tons of pages where I'm lacking information, and I still need to get Help and How To pages up. Even I'm still learning about all the possibilities of Wiki!

That said, I do need to get up early later this morning (eheh) and shower and go to Borders to get that price guide. So I'm going to try and sleep in this hot house of a bedroom now... (fan on, check! windows open, check! light blankets, check! Now let's just hope I don't have freaktacular dreams tonight.)

Celebrate the Season fic request for Pezi

Title: Secret of the Shrieking Shack
Rating: PG (sorry, I couldn't find to make an R-rating with your requested things without being downright weird/gruesome... and I can't really write those things.)
Disclaimer: All I own are dreams.
Author's Notes: Ah, this is my first HP fic. Ever. ;_; But I've been a Dramione shipper since... er, Prisoner of Azkaban's movie came out (I ended up reading the whole series after that, and getting hooked!). BUT! I have been writing fics for over 10 years now, and I sincerely hope I do Pezi's request justice. I don't think I can necessarily kick the rating up to R without having my first DM/HG fic ever end up like a sad attempt at a Food Network flambé, but... well, you get the drift.
Spoilers? Spoilers up to Prisoner of Azkaban. This takes place during some unspecified time (either in 4th or 5th year), not exactly following canon continuity of those years.

Summary: An enchantment at the Shrieking Shack goes awry, and Draco Malfoy is turned into a helpless puppy. Hermione might be the only one who can help him change back-- if they can attempt to get along. Dogs might be a man's best friend, but not a witch's!

Thank-you for Celebrating the Season with Draco and Hermione!

Five weird things about me
* I'm nocturnal. As in, I sleep in the afternoon, wake up in the evening, and go to sleep again in the morning.
* Accomplishing something really confusing gives me an incredible happy high. Think coding.
* I still sleep with my teddy bears on occasion. It's nice to have something to hug when it's cold and lonely. :)
* I just finished dueling a bunch of... well, probably pre-tweens, and I pwned them all. I only lost when the game froze during a turn. Does playing a game that seems to appeal more to kids than people my age (let alone my GENDER) make me weird?
* I don't pluck my eyebrows if I can avoid it.

More Dragonfayth news...
This is also on the main page of the site, but short of posting to azurite_updates too often, here it is: I just added a new item to the main menu- 'Characters.' Now you can access some short biographies and pictures of all the Yu-Gi-Oh characters featured (or that can be featured) in fanfics hosted at Dragonfayth. I'm always open to adding more characters, so let me know who needs to go on there! (I will tell you right now that we're missing characters from the AE arc, and I haven't yet differentiated between the Dark halves and/or previous incarnations. I need some input before I do that.)

What other pages should I add? Tammy of eFiction actually made the adding-a-link-to-the-main-menu process VERY easy. I could link to BEA/other seventh-star.net sites, obviously, but that's more of a single links thing (Links.php). What else do people want to see?

I think as of that last post, I may have solved the WDKY23 problem. And I don't know if you're keeping up with WDKY, [livejournal.com profile] ceruleansan, but there will be a minor tribute to you in that chapter. See if you can spot it. :}

Maaa, Hana Yori Dango j-drama never ceases to amaze me. Even though I know the story practically by heart, trying to cram 36 volumes of greatness into 9 episodes (I don't know why that's the expected total, but it's what everyone is saying) makes for some pretty damn dramatic hours. And you never know what the drama might change... of course, every episode has its requisite "Gah! I wanna strangle (insert character name here)!" Usually it's Tsukushi or Tsukasa, but for ep. 6, Rui totally deserved to be asphyxiated.

Oh, so someone recommended a bunch of gen fic over at [livejournal.com profile] ygo_goodfic, and one of them has inspired me for what might turn into my Christmas Challenge entry (for my own challenge, but hey, I'm allowed to do that). Sometime between Duelist Kingdom and Battle City is Christmas. Mokuba, child that he is, wants lots of games, and obviously, Kaiba, efficient guy that he is, decides (against his better judgment) to go to the Kame Game Shop. But rather than face his "mortal enemy" in Yuugi, it's Anzu who's mysteriously manning (or womanning?) the shop. Whereas in a genfic, such a coincidence would never occur and romance would most certainly never blossom, I'm an Azureshipper and I pull the strings, bwahaha!

What do you think? ^^

The second of three challenges offered by [livejournal.com profile] suppis_tenshi on [livejournal.com profile] anichallenge. I'm only answering two of them, the other one in a previous entry (see "Eat Your Words Beautiful"). There's also two more challenges posted today. Check them out!
